Probably because Bradford is a shit tip and its musical scene is pretty much non-existant compared to Leeds, Manchester etc... it's basically full of chavs who want to either get totally pissed up on the cheap or go to clubs which play bassline, like Funkys, Boilerhouse etc...

And yes, I live there so I have first hand knowledge of this.

I bet you could get enough people down for a midweek thing if you did Dub/Dubstep/Funky/DNB etc. and had maybe 3 people playing deeper stuff and one playing more jump up?

where is this Dub Street thing? is it gonna be 18+ (are they gonna enforce it)

but il try and get myself to this event, cos i missed the re:volve event @ revs
dub street is guna b @ this venue on barry street called 'generation x'(formerly the lounge)
erm, wot sum1 said about renting out boilerhouse 4 a dubstep nite...there are more desirable venues than that, surely?

on the music scene, boy.... thats all i can say about that

Yo mate the Bradford playhouse (formally the priestly centre) has just re-opened and down stairs theres a nice bar area where a dubstep night could work - there was a dub reggae night on saturday (unfortunately I was busy). I'd be well up to help promote and shit would just need to get a sound-system down, get someone to bring their technics and then get as many DJs who will play for free as possible - i'd be up for it!

Oh and they sell red stripe apparently!

Wicked mate, Bingley reprezent! =D I'm in super rural Silsden hehe

If I get my act (brain) together I'd be totally up for playin for nowt. I'd just need to either nick a laptop with a copy of Traktor 3 on it or borrow my mate's collection of my tunes they've had cut to dub and do it on decks. Haven't mixed on decks in well over a year.. Christ I wish I didn't spend all my cash on "cake" and would buy a pair and get my tunes cut onto dubplates

I live in pudsey, in between leeds n bradford.

I dont hear much of dub/dubstep nights at bradford, but at leeds there's loads.

If you go to Doctor Hermans in Leeds they usually have good flyers.
