i was about to say, THEY MAKE 8 CORE PROCESSORS FOR LAPTOPS NOW?
still quad core is gnarly.. i must be fucked up in the head, cuz i've actually come to like the limitations of a single core netbook with 1 gig of RAM.. yeah, i'm crazy

Re: On patience, hard work, and being an artist
i stand by my sentiment. if you think i am a pretentious, holier-than-thou blowhard, that's fine. think what you like. i want to change the world, and i will. there are more important things than music, than art. than entertainment too. i realize this is a wildly unpopular view here. again, you are ...

Re: Production - How to Get Your Shit Together?
i really don't know what any of us could possibly tell you....... i struggled through years of depression with the help of my music, it was my guiding light and only joy, my only love, so that, in a way, I didn't have a choice whether to learn it or not. i HAD to learn it. i kept learning, and just ...

Re: happy production mistakes thread
once you get the technique right for 808 drums, it seems SO DAMN simple, and elegant, but these days I forget that i messed around with it for YEARS, i mean YEARS before i learned enough to make it sound exactly how i want. that goes for all 808 sounds actually

"Passion". Isn't this what drives all us "bedroom producers"? Isn't it a great thing? Something to draw motivation from. Something to reflect upon a certain emotion with. Gotta love Fanu :) no, my friend did wanted to do it for the money, when he gave up he noticed i was better ...

one of my friends wants to start out selling music .... because he hates his day job and he wants to not work. he thinks that you just start putting albums out, and people just start buying them, and all of a sudden you're big and you don't have to work a 9-5 anymore... *sigh*.. it's kinda fucking s...

Re: how to properly bitcrush?
lol.... there's no right way to bit crush. it's a distortion effect.. originally designed to emulate the artifacts of digital sampling in the days before digital sounded good.. it's meant to make it sound "undesirable," as any 80s audio engineer would have put it ... it's just funny that w...

music is a representation of an individual's spiritual journey. nothing more, nothing less. in other words you've got to learn to accept where you're at and keep with the forward motion.

turn it down? stereo filter delay, and artificial stereo field plugins (or 'spread' control on synth) can soften it up. make a little cut in certain regions 14-22khz if it's piercing.. also i almost always hipass with low Q around 800-1000hz, idk

Re: Sine or Triangle?
to be honest, i would say that if you are adding any other frequencies to a sub, you are taking away from the pure bass weight.. so using any method to add higher harmonics will ultimately amount to about the same thing, spectrum wise.. i think a triangle is a pretty good choice for sub, better for ...

Re: That extra 10Hz of bass on monitors...worth paying doubl
well, the ratio from 10 to 60 is 1/6, right?
which means you will get an extra, minor third, if my calculations are right. (stemming from the fact that 6:5 was the traditional ratio used for the minor third)
so, if, one speaker can produce a Bb accurately, the other one can go down to G... you decide

bassbum i'm with you, but you need to get educated about hip-hop before you bad mouth all of it. there is someone who raps about the drug dealers in jail. there is someone who raps about dead kids in the ghetto. there is tons of hip-hop with good messages if you give it a chance. and plenty of times...

Re: DONT THINK TOO MUCH INTO IT. Over complicating things.
Dont always think "oh well this is a snare it needs to be compressed with a hard knee at this ratio with a limiter on the ding dong and some reverb on the doobly doo and lots of equing on the pooper scooper and a shit ton of distortion on the cock smacker" actually.... that's an eerily ac...
