Music news thread
I'd like to make a list of good music websites/blogs/podcasts/magazines etc so that we can get updated about new electronic music releases, mostly all variants of dubstep. Not only will this help keep us updated but it means the writers get more exposure/listeners. The way I propose to do this is ea...

Re: Chords
So if like, your melody had the notes C, A#, G, and D# (not in any order, it doesn't matter), then you could make a chord up of any of those notes. Like a chord that has the notes C, G, and D#. or a chord that has the notes A#, G and C. Ah ok, so you 'could' make a chord out of them, thanks that's ...

Chords
Hi, I've started to realise I don't use chords in my music, simply due to the fact that I don't know how... when I'm making a track I usually just fiddle around with the keys until I get a nice melody, but I want to make my sounds more filled out. I know how to play a chord, the bit I find hard is l...

Re: 30 days to be a better producer

Re: kick drum eq
Ok, so when equalizing things, the idea is to not have too many instruments covering each frequency, you want the final tune to be (when looking at the audio visualiser) a smoothish curve?

Re: kick drum eq
old thread but... how the hell do you guys have the time to go through every bass drum and check its EQ... I'm learning more about the producers than producing here in this forum, it seems like I just don't have the same technical understanding of producing as everyone else does... I go into my ultr...

Re: DSF Q&A Sessions 19: Phaeleh
Phaeleh, I'm a big fan, I remember the moment when I discovered your track 'numb' for the first time, I almost queefed. I always find when I'm making a tune that i get to the end of the drop and I don't really know what to do next without the track starting to sound boring and repetitive, what sugge...

Re: Logic crashing on relatively good macbook pro
Blah, well I guess there was always going to be a downside to a free synth... being a bedroom music producer and DJ sure is an expensive hobby

Using NI Massive, but only for three track layers, and logic pro 9.1.5. Not using any other plugins.
Thanks

Logic crashing on relatively good macbook pro
Hiya, I'm having a bit of problem with logic pro 9 and a 2.16 GHZ core 2 duo mac pro, it keeps crashing several times when playing the track and it's quite distracting when playing through a song. Here are my specs 2.16 GHz Intel core 2 duo, 2 GB RAM 250GB 5400 rpm hard drive at first i thought upgr...

give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. teach him to apply relative pitch recognition.... ... and he'll make good enough tunes to eventually get a record deal, possibly start DJing, play gigs, entertain festivals, achieve a number 1 hit, and afford fish every evening with the finest sauvignon blanc!

werd. also going through a divorce. No compromising! Only perfect 10s from here on in. IMO (now) If a girl doesn't support and encourage your expression and art, then wtf - that's the same as not supporting and encouraging you on a personal level, as the beats we make are reflections of our selves....
