Re: turntables coffin cases
really? i thought it would be much harder to carry 3 cases than one bigger case, and i can keep them in it all the time.Sharmaji wrote:coffins are awful to move. much easier to deal w/ 3 separate flight cases.

turntables coffin cases
so I have to technics 1210s and i am getting a numark m2 mixer which i have read is 13.5 inches wide... flight cases seem to come with 10inch, 12inch or 19inch mixer spaces. it seems a bit excessive to get a 19inch mixer space for a 13.5 inch mixer, does anyone know if it would fit into a 12inch mix...

Re: wer can i get that reggae sound i fink it a guitar?
well reggae skanks are originally just constructed of guitar, keys and maybe some brass. there are plenty different types and its all about experimenting with different rhythms and note lengths, chord construction. the effected reverb and delay skanks come mainly from dub rather than reggae, so they...

Re: brostep production massive.
people are putting too much thought into it... maybe the scene is a bit different in america i dont know. i was told that it is seen as more of a rave ting over there rather than here where its seems more about a dark room with big bass and vibes.

Re: brostep production massive.
i think everyone just needs to chill with the subgenre labelling... true dubstep has evolved from its beginnings but it is just petty to try and pigeon hole everything so you can understand it. fair enough there are plenty of copycat producers but that is the case with both deep and jump up stuff......

Re: Dubby/reggae synths/samples
do it yourself? either use single note samples of guitars or organs and make your own chords or sample chords and put them on beats 2 and 4 at 140bpm. add reverb and delay and other effects. if you want a more synthy sound then make one with a synth?

Re: Hi-Hat - swingy groove help
I dont tihnk i was clear enough in what i was saying - i know that they werent a swing feel and that the clave notation wasnt a swung feel, but i was just showing an example of swung notes used in tandem with straight rhythms. I don't mean to be a cock about it - im not a drummer myself, but as I sa...

also this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uO4A6xx65WU&feature=PlayList&p=B49EA94FCDF8FD8F&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=4 swing is mainly coming from the kick and snare in this tune but the guitar supports it too. . Yessss! This is an amazing example of how wrong i can be so...

Re: Hi-Hat - swingy groove help
you can get swing without using any swing buttons! they are useful but sometimes if you are thinking of a specific swing rhythm you are better just programming it, you can programme swing with quantise still on. and you can use swing rhythms in any instrument, pitched or non pitched... see dizzee ra...

Re: Hi-Hat - swingy groove help
swing is basically having a dotted crotchet followed by a quaver, or a dotted quaver followed by a semi quaver, as opposed to straight rhythms which would be two crotcehts or two quavers. the first bar of this notation is straight. the start of the second bar is swung: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F...

Re: Making dubstep bass like stenchman/16bit with the Malstrom?
yeah stench uses the malstrom most i tihnk, the free patches he did are all on malstrom. you can get great sounds out of either, i found the malstroms lfo was a bit easier to get just right at first but you can get deffo some powerful stuff from both.
