Re: *Should* a sub bass pitch match it's midrange counterpar
Dunno if I'm missing something here but... Why not just pitch *both* your sub and your midrange bass line up by 1/2/3/4/whatever semitones? I don't think he even needs to do that. I think it's probably fine just the way it is. He says his notes go from G down to D, which all hit perfectly in the &q...

Re: Nasty Habits During Production?
ne of mine is EQ'ing absolutely everything I don't see why that's a bad habit? Literally every track in my projects has an EQ on it. It's to make sure everything is sitting in the right EQ space and to make sure there aren't any rogue frequencies messing with my shit. For example you might have a h...

Re: *Should* a sub bass pitch match it's midrange counterpar
there is no hard or fast rule. It really depends on the tune you're making. If it's sub-driven, you might have written a bouncy sub line that acts like the "lead" in which case your mid elements might just play off it. However if you've got a mid which is very "riffy" you may wan...

Re: RC1 sound system ?
The RC-1 is THE best sound system I've ever played on. The reason it was so loud at Skreamizm is because I had more in the venue than I should have :h: He hadn't been to the venue before so brought what I asked which I regret none of. :-) There will be another huge Skreamizm show towards the end of...

Re: recommendations pls
Mate you need to get real. This blabber about your gig and bank statement are making you look like a bloody tool. The only one coming across like a tool in this thread is you. Seems like you've got some kind of agenda here, jealous? Butthurt? Whatever it is, it's quite pathetic. I'm 99.999999999999...

Re: recommendations pls
OP - I wouldn't take recommendations from someone who uses Cloud Killers to get comments on a bunch of mediocre material. PM me I'll get you hooked up with some nice tunes. Do you wanna let me know what 'cloud killers' are? seeing as you know a lot about the subject.. lol At least spell my name rig...

Re: RC1 sound system ?
hmm how does it compare to the iration steppas one? I've only heard Iration Steppas sound once and to be honest it was a bit tinny to my ears, really sharp trebles. The bassweight was unreal though. Jah shaka runs his sound so nicely, It had such a perfect balance when I saw him at the dome. The sy...

Re: RC1 sound system ?
It's the best system i've ever heard. Absolutely ridiculous weight, yet still crystal clear. It's not just an aural sensation, it physically pounds you and you feel it all over your body. I've seen/felt/heard it a few times, it sounded the best when I went to Skreamizm (Electric Brixton), but I wasn...

Re: Ableton vs CDJ's [mixing]
Fair enough. I just dunno if it constitutes DJing. It's something else. But you're right, at the end of the day its all just a performance and what the listeners think is what really counts.

Re: Ableton vs CDJ's [mixing]
That said, I would really like to learn how to slap a studio mix together in Ableton if it's going to save me time. I've longed out on doing mixes for people before, being able to put a decent set together in Abe would be handy. But i'd never use it live

Re: Ableton vs CDJ's [mixing]
I would still rather see a DJ mashing it up on CDJs or Technics than someone staring at a laptop screen. As a punter it's just a shit experience unless they are genuinely doing something groundbreaking with it. And 99% of people aren't. Just my personal opinion and I am open to having my mind change...
