Re: Tron Legacy Soundtrack

thats pretty good! how did you do it? any particular scale? i noticed on some of the tron stuff it sounds like they have multiple overlapping arpeggios, i don't know how they get them in tune. i'd like to get hold of a midi file as its the music theory side i find hardest. http://sebastianwolff.inf...

Re: Tron Legacy Soundtrack

Ive been messing around with recreating those sounds to help improve my understanding of synthesis since it first came out. i play around with it when i have a little free time and dealing with writer's block, here's my most recent attempt, getting close, but without all that sexy hardware it's stil...

Re: Skrillex assistance. NO, this is not about bass or leads

on the deadmau5 tune i dont think its an illusion, there are a ton of hits layered up, not as much as 10, but at least 2-4 that hit on every beat and then hats on the off beat. not sure if thats what you were asking for, or if you even asking a question....

Rudebrat, from what i can tell he does (insert moniker of choice)-step remixes of metal tunes. havent heard any of his original stuff, but i think this might help you get an idea

Re: How do i make my wobble do this

Don't know if you've tried already, but you might be able to get the trem effect with the vibrato under the "OSC" tab in Massive. Also, select mono on the vibrato for a more focused and less chaotic modulation.

Re: Reason/MIDI keyboard question

regroove then? ive always gotten fairly good results using the random velocity function. if it sounds to much like you edited them in groups, what about selecting a smaller group at a time to edit? other than that i dont really know, but there is this thread that might help you, http://dubstepforum....

Re: Reason/MIDI keyboard question

open up the tool window and in the "sequencer tools" section theres a note velocity area. just highlight your midi notes, choose your settings and hit apply

Re: Weekly Project 001 - Making sounds from pictures ...

Bumping this up because it's awesome. I downloaded the demo of photosounder to try it out and the whole not being able to save is kind of annoying. I tried the link for the monalisa-au, but it takes me to a forbidden page in japanese and after searching around I haven't been able to find a free alte...

Re: Whats your reason 5 default look like?

pretty much an empty rack, just a mastering suite (always start with this bypassed) and the 14 channel mixer. im also really digging the idea of the delay and unison as aux sends on the drums, thanks for that therapist :W:

Re: nasty kickdrum

I didnt mean to just sample it and use it outright, you would still need to process it. the suggestion of sampling was just a quick way to get some good sounding top end kick sounds without searching through a ton of random samples that you would probably end up having to EQ the hell out of anyway.

Re: nasty kickdrum

just a sample with a lot of top end click, kinda whats popular in heavy metal right now because guitars and basses are tuning lower and lower and there needs to be a way for the kick to cut through. throw it through some parallel distortion and maybe a little parallel compression. or just sample a k...

Re: Any Guitarists in here?

I've been playing pretty steadily for 10+ years, played in bands and quit that because I didn't feel like dealing with unwarranted egos and started getting into producing to become the next Trent Reznor and gradually started getting into more electronic stuff. I play a lot of metal, At The Gates, Th...

Re: NI Massive on Reason 4?

when ever these types of reason 4 questions come about, for some reason thor's wavetable oscillators never come up. brilliant little guys these are, and if youre diligent you'll find a couple that set you about 3/4 of the way to making the "yoy" sound.
