M-Audio Trigger Finger with Traktor?
What are everyone's views on this? I am thinking of getting this just to trigger and control some effects on traktor, ie to turn on effects using the pads of to trigger of samples using the pads and to adjust the dry/wet of some parameters with the knobs as the traktor s2 doesn't have as many contro...

Why is the sub in my song shaking the speakers?
Alright guys, I have been making this track on headphones but had house to myself today so put it on the speakers and noticed the the cone on the speaker was going mental on some of the notes. I listened to alot of other tracks at the same volume and they did not shake the speakers, and i dont think...

Re: Playing the kick and bass a tad away from eachother
Sorry, but what is the difference between this and side-chaining your bass to your kick drum? Surely with the sidechaining settings set so that it is rather quick it would have the same effect because the compression would bring the bass down as the kick hits and then let it play at its full a split...

Re: How To Make This Sound - December 2011
First off, thanks to Fused Production for the reply. I've gotten a little closer with whit noise, however, that makes the distortion sound very noisy at a certain point. It's the exact vowel of the scream that I'm having trouble replicating. Thought I'd post the video again and get a second opinion...

Re: Roar Bass on ES2 Tutorial.
If you don't have a patch that sounds similar to this then I will upload the patch for download. I didn't do this in the first place because I wanted to try and get people to understand why changing certain parameters made it sound this way. http://soundcloud.com/mattyb1234/roar-tutorial It doesn't ...

Roar Bass on ES2 Tutorial.
Hi guys! As the title says, this is strictly a logic tutorial. Firstly initialize the patch as best as possible, I do this by Alt + clicking on all of the parameters to return them to their default. If you want to you can the go into the drop down menu of the synth after you have made everything its...

Re: How To Make This Sound - December 2011
Okay, so Flux Pavilions lead synth in his remix of Cracks. It sounds heavy and powerful yet still maintains a beautiful melodic aspect to it, something not seen very much in the more aggressive side of dubstep. I'm in love with it, but I can't seem to recreate it. I use logic, so if there are any o...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
It consists of two different reese's. One on the kick and another after it. This is not for any particular reason, its just how I felt it sounded in their track. In picture 1 it shows my first reese. (The reese on the kick drum) You can copy settings if you feel like doing so, only bit you cant see ...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
This was my attempt at creating something very similar to Koan Sound - The edge. Its not amazing but it only took me about 30 minutes so with a bit more time it could sound a alot better. The key to it was taking the reese and sending it to 2 send effects. Detuning these send effects ever so slightl...

Re: Levels go up as I take away frequencies with EQ?
A steep filter will actually boost the signal at the cutoff point. Maybe use a gentler filter, 12 or 24db. There'll be less resonance at the cutoff point, and it'll sound more natural. 48db is a steep cut. Also you could try a little bit of limiting just to take off the peak. Thank you for the info...

Re: Levels go up as I take away frequencies with EQ?
you could have resonance on the cut? but also i dont know why, or how it happens, but i have heard that because how EQ's work is by inverting phase, when you take some frequencies out, it can alter the phase around that area resulting in slightly higher levels. to be honest though, come on, its 0.6...

Levels go up as I take away frequencies with EQ?
I have noticed this a few time but never payed much notice but its begging to bug me now. For this example I was EQ'ing a kick drum. I High-passed it to about 65 hertz with a 48db slope. I noticed as I did this that the level went from -7.9 to -7.3? Can anybody tell me why this is happening? And pos...
