Re: Feedback for complete tracks - BASED ON THEIR ORIGINALIT
If you listen to my bloody valentine your not a music snob mate XD My point was that 0.01% of the population of this forum are at a stage where they need to worry about things like originality. Another more valid point though, is that originality means fuck all as to how good a song is or is not. I...

Re: Feedback for complete tracks - BASED ON THEIR ORIGINALIT
But why should it be? Making something original is the last stage of learning production in my eyes. You gotta learn to crawl before you can walk, you gotta walk before you can run and you gotta do a shitload of training before you invent your own parkour moves. wait, why should what be? i'm confus...

Feedback for complete tracks - BASED ON THEIR ORIGINALITY
This is something that seems to be overlooked completely when feedback is requested for completed tracks. I find this strange considering the amount of emphasis that users here put on creating tracks that are original, and not copies of dasik/skrillex/bro. This is also something I struggle with imme...

Re: excision style...
my way to go about it, insert return track. put a high pass filter on it, then reverb (adjust tail and dampening for the particular sound) with 60-100% wet, then through a mono phaser on there. makes it sound as if the audio is now reverberating through a metal casing or something of that nature.

Re: Macro Plugins?
yep, for ableton it's extremely simple. just right click the massive plugin inside of ableton (not inside of massive), and select "group instrument." then on the upper left corner there will be some buttons - one of which will expand the instrument group or rack window. do this and you sho...

Re: Chords in relation to scale?
regarding the op's question about tips for writing chord progressions: for me, a good way to start out is by writing a simple riff using a scale, for example the pentatonic minor (basically the most used scale of all time). don't worry about writing chords, just write a melody using single notes. af...

Re: Chords in relation to scale?
some of the best chord progressions i've made have been by combining 3-5 notes from the key of your song into chords. 1-3-5, or 1-flatted 3rd-5, or 1-5 make most of your basic chords and power chords. you can then start to add variation from here. so if you have a whole bar of 1-3-5 chord, halfway t...

Soundcloud
i know this needs mastering (so while comments about levels/EQ are helpful - not exactly what i'm looking for). but i definitely feel that this is a great improvement over my previous tracks. so let me know what you think, i'm not easily discouraged.

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- JANUARY 2011
kikaruu - interesting track. i like the old-school 8 bit sounds. i'm on a shitty computer right now, so i can't really comment on the sub... but the track is exciting. cibiia - nice glitchy bass. sounds good. my only constructive criticism would be to add some more variation to the bass. some random...

Re: sending demos to labels which use "naughty" plugs..
i used to agree that massive was over rated (used Operator initially for everything). however, at the moment i have to say it's pretty amazing. sure, the resulting sounds could have been made from almost any other synth (freeware or payware) on the market; but what makes massive amazing is how easy ...

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- JANUARY 2011
appreciate the feedback man. and yeah, i just felt like all my tracks had the kick and snare too loud... and that unless listening at high volumes, you just could not hear the other instruments as well. although i think you're right, and went a little too low overall. will check yours out when i'm n...

Re: DJ's with the same name as you
i changed my name as soon as i got my first songs signed to Analogic Recordings... did a few sound cloud and google searches before i finalized it.
it seems my name has something to do with bass fishing though... the fuck?
