Re: ReachZenith - Rapid Exposure (Filth/Heavy/Industrial)
On the strings section, if you automate the transients I think it will sound more natural. Musicians perform their instruments with character and you want to try to mimick that in your productions.

I find it very useful and helpful to read this feedback, even if it's not about my tracks. Thanks!

I really dig those percussion sounds!!! I thought it was slightly repetitive. I know you were probably going for that deep relaxed feel, but maybe switch up the rhythms a bit.

Re: Dirty Byte (DeadMau5 Inspired) - Dj RoffleMaU
I agree this forum could use some improvement on the responses for feedback, everyone is willing to show off their tracks but few are willing to give some constructive feedback. Writers block is the worst.... For me nothing has really helped except continuing to try to make music until finally that ...

Re: Dirty Byte (DeadMau5 Inspired) - Dj RoffleMaU
I like that you tried something different, I can definitely hear the deadmau5 influence. Production wise I would work on making your percussion hit a little harder. You might want to had some more punch to the kick and beef to the snare... especially at the dubstep part. Also the low end sounded a l...

Soundcloud
This one is more along the darker and heavier side of dubstep, but hopefully you can work it into your set!

Re: Flay Knight - London Tube
Hey mate great song, but extraordinary video as well! I have visited london twice and I think you really captured what the underground is, both through the song and the video. Did you shoot all this footage yourself? Big ups if you did. I mean I think the mix on this song was perfect I don't have an...

Also wanted to mention that this reminded me of shpongle quite a bit as well, I feel like you have to know who shpongle is if you are making music like this.

Re: Freak Flag - Riptide. Tripped out homegrown psy-dubstep
Great sound design! Really original tune. I love the dub reggae feel that is poking through, really tripped out and good! From a mix down standpoint I have a few points. First off I think the snare needs to cut through the mix and hit a bit harder. Also overall I think the leveling on the synths/mid...

Re: SUMMER DUBSTEP VIBES - ELLIOTT M "DRIFTING"
I can really hear the summer vibes in this, good production and a nice clean original sound! My only criticism would be the trumpety FM synthesis sample, it sounds a little cheesy/yellow jacket to me. I know that may be the vibe you are going for but I think trumpet sounds work better if there is mo...

Artist name: Astrobear Track Title: Northern Lights Genre: Dark Dubstep http://soundcloud.com/astrobear/northern-lights There were two songs I made recently that I really liked, but I have to say that this one is my favorite. Really crunchy and I think a diverse range of dubstep fans can appreciate ...

Re: In the beginning..Remember?
I don't think I really focused on one thing when I was starting out... Like I don't remember being like, "This song is going to have a really nice use of a compressor and that is it" For better or worse I don't think I started focusing on certain parts of my production until much later whe...

Re: Deep, Dark, Trippy Dubstep for 4/20 :)
And I'll look into the WOW filter too. So you're saying you won't need to turn on Massive's internal filters 1+2 at all if you're using the wow filter? It's that effective? Because I might try that out then. And thanks again for your insight! By the way, why is it that your soundcloud tracks have s...

Re: Deep, Dark, Trippy Dubstep for 4/20 :)
Oh wow, that was actually really specific! I was expecting a vague answer, that's really helpful! And from what I understood about resampling, it kinda sounds like that's what you did..Just you didn't necessarily bounce separate copies in and out, just the same one but with the multiple sends actin...

Re: Deep, Dark, Trippy Dubstep for 4/20 :)
Here is a basic idea of how I got the sound NI Massive one soft/square wave with an LFO on the wavetable between more soft and more square. I have this oscillator on the "Bend +/-" option to scroll through the playback of the wave. This is that goes inside of massive. I send a bus out of M...

Re: Deep, Dark, Trippy Dubstep for 4/20 :)
Thanks it was the type of synth where not much had to be processed, but everthing had to be just right to get that crunchy yet sizzling sound. I am going to use that type synth in a lot more of my songs.
By the way I checked out the post in your signature, I liked it quite a bit!
