forgot to say about automation but its well known by now i think - its big part of the movement of basslines...when you're building your patch and tweaking parameters think which of them would fit properly in its performance/movement...i mean if you start tweaking something and its changing the soun...

really important thing(almost as important as the sounddesign of the bass) is the movement and how it fits the track...You need to gain some groove out of it with filters(especially BP because they're boosting certain harmonics when sweeping), notes, pitches, volume, pan, other synth or FX parameter...

stick the highs the lows and mids one to each other in a way that you could make adjustments to all of them at once...i mean put them into a sampler for example(keep them separate) and then add filter/volume/pitch modulations to all of them or only to mids and lows for example(you could make separat...

I think this could be achieved simply with a vocoder too

i've heard the multiband dynamics pack is great

also try using dynamic EQ on your drums - it makes a whole lot of a difference

why dont you try with only one kick first - boost sum frequencies and cut others for getting the whole picture
