Re: The future of 140 bpm music
Fuck 140 bpm In FL Studio I tap out my tempo to see what # it should be set at Music is all about feeling...so if you are working in a BPM that you aren't feeling at that moment your music is going to suffer. If you aren't feeling 140 bpm it how are the listeners going to? Music is an expression of ...

Hilarious Infomerical for PAL198X mini-Synth
This was made to promote the upcoming album from Neon Indian whose first album helped create a genre that was coined after a joke(Chillwave). The deluxe version of the soon to be out album comes with a PAL198X synth that Alan Palomo, the brainchild behind Neon Indian created. http://steliq.com/c/lm/...

No. Just thought it was ok to talk about dub here since it's dubstep's root sound.Widowmaker wrote:op thinks dub = dubstep

I'd die for a chance to hide out in that studio and mess around with Lee Perry's equipment.

Re: I've got the Arrangement Blues...please HELP!
Thanks...great post! Getting a great 8-16 bar loop isn't a problem for me. I like to include as many layers as possible that gel together while I work on my main loop. I guess I just need to work on fills and transitions so that I can drop and add those layers as the song progresses. I've never trie...

Re: I've got the Arrangement Blues...please HELP!
I definitely think having a plan will make a big difference for me....also organizing and naming all my patterns is something I don't put enough effort into because I like diving into the musical aspects right away but when it comes time to arrange my loops I get frustrated because what I am left wi...

I've got the Arrangement Blues...please HELP!
I've had this problem for a few years now(new to dubstep but was doing hip hop and other stuff before) I've got hundreds of 4-8 bar loops I created from scratch...none of them are arranged or go anywhere. I think I have musical ADD...I spend a few hours on one idea and then jump to the next. In my m...

Re: Question regarding LIVE Dubstep shows
It all depends on what you consider "live". some people will call it a live show if it's a producer playing all original music, even if they are basically just DJing their own songs. But there's a whole spectrum of possibilities for playing electronic music live - though there doesn't see...

Re: defining dubstep ?
Brostep isn't real, it's just a derogatory word people use for music they don't like. Kinda like how jungle came to be called. That is what I figured. Snobbishness seems to be pretty rampant in this scene. I read here that real dubstep is atmosheric, meditative, and soulful I plan on making a...

Re: defining dubstep ?
I am new to this forum but have listened to dubstep for a few years....I must say this forum has really confused me about what 'real' dubstep is. I've heard people say that producers like Benga, Coki, & Skream make real dubstep. People here seem to consider 'brostep' to be anything with wobbly ...

Re: Best lyricists in Dubstep?
Beezy  No offense but I hate southern rap ..sounds too cheesy in my opinion. However I did love "Day in the Life". Vocals made me laugh and the production was very nice. :| southern rap? really? I suppose you could call it pop music...this beat reminds me of southern rap for some...
