Re: sub bass problems

Ya for sub bass you want sustain all the way up. Im guessing that you have it set to glide between notes also. So when it reaches a new midi note its not re-triggering the synth but bending the first note to the pitch of the new midi note. This is the right way to do sub bass but with out the sustai...

Re: How to mix dubstep with dnb?

On ableton I've been mixing from dubstep into new life by nero. Theres no drums in the intro so it sounds fine down at 140, then during the build up I slowly turn the bpm up to 174 and let it drop :4:

Re: Adding more elements / interest to my track?

that seems a really good explination from what I understood of it, got a bit lost after the basics. So when you see any scale the key is the note that is in its name 'C' for example, and the sharp or flat or whatever is the notes played in that key out of all the possibilities? The sharp or flat is...

"What are these barriers that keep people from reaching anywhere near their real potential? The answer to that can be found in another question and that's this: Which is the most universal human characteristic: fear, or laziness?"

As you go around the circle of fiths the scale only changes by one note from the last, so two scales that are side by side in the wheel have nearly identical notes.

Re: how to bitcrush only certain frequencies

What DAW are you in? Ableton lets you split the sound at specific frequencies with the multiband dynamics tool. Then you have a separate fx chain for each frequency band. I think most DAWs will let you do this.

I've been studying software engineering and I always smoke before writing code. For some reason I can just crank out awesome code while I'm high. Debugging is a whole nother story though, that stuff sucks when your high. My former roomate is exactly the same. Also, this speaks to creation vs. mixin...
