Yeah, that's pretty fucking awesome. I'd love to know specifically how you got the vowel movement.TheOcularInvisible wrote:Soundcloud

Okay, so I added a bunch more processing and filtered out some frequencies I didn't like. Added a bit more vowel movement too. Still a little clueless though.

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
This is the patch and the processing isn't anything special. Some EQ notch movement for vowels, a WOW filter and Sausage Fattener.

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Okay, so I need to frequent this thread more. I'm looking for some tips cause every time I make something I always feel that there's something I've missed that's really obvious to more experienced people. https://soundcloud.com/mistergasai/bass-sound-design So, this is with a little processing and I...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
Thought I'd leave some random feedback because yolo. manudiao: I like that intro. Maybe put an atmospheric ting in the background or like rain or something? Sub fits in nicely with the mix. Really nice sounds in the drop. Some of them sound a little too harsh. Think the kick needs more top end and p...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
It means I don't know that type of music and my feedback would be useless. Sorry man :/

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
If I missed you out it's because my feedback would be completely useless to you anyway. @Kes-Es - I think the lack of sub in the melody section is a bad idea. Maybe put it in and then remove it for the buildup. Also the main synth I think needs widening. The kick and snare need perking up a little t...

Re: This Cargnage & KillaGraham
It's a really easy bass to make. 2 sine waves 48 semitones apart with a helluva lot of Parabolic Shaper on. Then a scream filter (just tweek until it sounds right). Then FX to your own taste.

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
If I've missed you out it's because I wouldn't be able to give you any relevant feedback :/ @Chainsaw Police - There's an odd frequency on that kick that my ears don't like, not sure what it is. Like the sweeps and shit in the background. The other percussion sounds good. The bass sounds mostly clea...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@RATCUB Right, the mixdown is the main problem that I can hear 'cause most of the ideas and synths are pretty good. The drums just aren't doing it for me. The kick needs more low end presence and I think the snare needs more high end presence and probably a bit of reverb. Not that bad otherwise. Ke...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@Fbac I like that reese. Sounds like it might need cleaning up a bit though. The drums aren't coming through much and the snare doesn't have enough high end and too much 200Hz boosting. I think the mixdown on the drums might need clearing up. @Eye-siC Can't be of much help. My speakers aren't too g...

Re: Q&A yourself!!
Nice idea for a thread. 1. What is your production set up? (hardware and software) Ableton, Massive, Nexus, midi keyboard, MS16 Monitors, pair of Philips headphones. 2. What is your musical history? (Any instruments/djing etc) Self taught guitar for about 7 years. Currently working towards A level M...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@D-ROD Buildup is nice, good use of the sub. I would use more than one hihat for the drop, beef up the drums a bit with EQ and use more cymbals. Soory I couldn't be of more help, not good with DnB. @johnkimble Sounds pretty trappy. I think I would prefer a more obvious/predictable beat but that's p...

Re: How to make this Sound December 2012
Right, I need this bass.
The one at 1:21 and again at 1:38. The really crisp bass that sounds orgasmic and gorgeous and sexy and ahhhhhhh! I don't even know where to start with it...

Re: Weapon of choice
Massive: Obvious reasons. Camelcrusher: I love this so much. It just adds so much to synths without destroying them. Nexus: Presets. EQ them to fit. One of my favourites. Plus, I love its piano. Pretty much all of the Ableton stock effects: They're easy do use and do what you want them to. What more...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@ SMOR3S Heh, same name as a Gemini track. There's something about that snare/clap that doesn't sit well with me... dunno might just be personal opinion. The kick sounds a bit flat aswell. Maybe layer it with a higher one? Sounds pretty full to me. Sorry I couldn't be of more help... @ Kongret If I'...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Really loving the 'play it an octave lower then double the speed' method. Never thought I could get such decent basses out of Massive. Used it in a WIP. https://soundcloud.com/official-silver/moar-dubstep-wip As for talk to me. I always thought it was a vocoder with just a nasty vocal bass underneat...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!
@mthrfnk The intro sounds good. Don't think I like drums, they sound too weak but I think that's just personal preference. Like the vocals, they fit in the track well. Sounds a bit repeatitive and samey... Mixdown sounds good though. Liking it. @mtl6 I think the piano (or whatever that is) would so...
