Re: anyone else loving their MPC Ren?

Eat Bass wrote:i paid 60 bucks for my korg padkontrol.

im jelly of you and would love a ren but 1300 bucks is a ton for what i would use it for.

do you just use the padkontrol as 16 pads basically? for someone whose familiar with mpc workflow ren is soooo much more than that..

anyone else loving their MPC Ren?

traded in my 5000 for some cash + a Ren and i feel like its one of the best deals i've ever gotten.. loving my new workflow; make the beat on the mpc, save it, open logic and then boot ren into it as an 8xout and mixdown/arrange into a song. to the people who are saying the 1300 dollars is too much ...

Re: Moving from FL to Logic - Drum processing/creation

i just made this exact same switch like 3 weeks ago and was having the same problem before i just gave up on sequencing them in midi altogether. now i just lay all my samples down in audio and trust me, once you get to grips with working with audio in logic too then its a dream, you'll be like "...

Re: Any 2step/Garage tips

turn off quantize Most of the 2-Step producers usually say the opposite. I believe El-B says in that masterclass vid that he just swings the hi-hats and percussion but not the kicks and snares. He used 16T on the hats. In that Wideboys vid that was posted here, he ran all the drums through 16T. Pla...

Re: Minimoog/analog vintage synth replication with a VST?

get arturia's moog modular instead... it's way more versatile and the soft clipping sounds rly good, probably my favorite synth (but i also have lots of experience with patching modular gear and if you don't this will probably be kind of frustrating at first)

Re: Any FL studio Users Making garage?

ALWAYS in the step sequencer.. i dont really enjoy fine tuning that much and i rarely (never unless its recorded like that, really) open the piano roll for drums......... plus i think fl's built in swing sounds great edit: i try to get rough levels of everything correct when i first open shit in the...

Re: power amp for passive monitors

Why would you settle for less power? If your monitors are underpowered you will experience a degradation in sound at higher volumes. Massive distortion, etc. would you say that something like the alesis ra150 that pushes just 75w per channel would be totally unadvisable then? (i have one of these j...

power amp for passive monitors

how much is too much? my speakers are rated 200w rms and i have a choice between an amp that pushes 150 watts rms and one that pushes 500w rms. its an extra 100 bucks for me to get the 500w one, so im wondering, is the improvement im gonna hear really worth it, or should i just hang with the smaller...
