Re: Advice on production?

Man if you make a template with your kick, sub and hihats or whatever sounds you use frequently with eq and filters already applied and whatever else effects you want. Then you can get a better creative flow without having to stop mid song and thinking to technically it helps me alot. Also i genrall...

Re: Eqing Bass and Kick

Be careful using steep curved high pass filters on some eq's/filters as they can produce some strange effects/ phasing around the cutoff point. if you use a liner phase eq this should be less of a problem. instead of boosting '90-120' as some people say, get a spectrum analyser on your kick and act...

Re: Eqing Bass and Kick

And basically your options are to raise your kicks out of that deep sub range, or make room for them laterally by ducking the sub via sidechaining, or by programming your sub syncopated with the kick. Yeah I've heard some people pitchshift their kick up a bit to take it out of the range of the sub ...

Re: Drum Roll before drop

I just listened to them and it doesn't seem that hard. I thought you were talking about the ones that sounds like they drum roll into infinity but sounding smooth still. I think they use dBlueGlitch with either the yellow one or purple. I forgot what they are called Lol. Glitch Is Fucking Awesome :...

Re: Dimension Expander On Sub Bass (Massive)?

Definitely don't use it. It's a nice sounding effect but unfortunately you can't specify which oscillators to apply it to - if you're working with a dedicated sub patch though, you could always just throw the dimension expander on the top bass. But you definitely don't want to be feeding your sub t...

Re: Dimension Expander On Sub Bass (Massive)?

generally putting reverb on bass is bad. BUT if it sounds good then do it, then check your mix in mono. if it falls apart then you've probably got too much effect. Yes i agree, But lately ive been checking out some synth presets from top dubstep producers just so i could try to figure out what tech...

Re: Dimension Expander On Sub Bass (Massive)?

it's a short, chorused verb-- actually a really handy verb, wish i had a plug that just did that without the rest of massive ;) if you like it on bass, awesome. might be easier to mix if you make your sound mono afterwards, but if it sounds good, do it. sharmaji have you not tried dub-expander? its...
