Re: must...resist...the...sales....
Its a Toshiba USB 3.0 with 2.0 compatibility. 5/gbps. Should work like a huge flash drive. only 5400rpm though lolnope. I know what you mean, 5400 isn't ideal but my internal drive is the same speed. I dont have any issues with it. I'll test it out before trusting it with anything important. worst ...

Re: must...resist...the...sales....
Is it USB3.0? If so - jump on it. If not, it's just old stock they're trying to shift and prices will remain around there into the new year (will probably go up before xmas but after again for Jan sales.) I have one already but its not bus powered. Project files also backed up online. I could use the extra space and another system image though. Considering it still :/ thanks

Re: Feeds Me (Drums)
parallel (or New York) compression will make a noticeable difference right away. When I layer kicks, I'll add an instance of "The Glue" compressor to the kick bus to gel the samples together. seems to work. as well as tweaking the ADSR on one of the kicks so they hit at the exact same time...

Re: Using an Audio Interface Vs. a Mixer?
I had this same issue. I used to use a DJM500 in my production rig but it creates a ton of noise due to the RCAs and the unbalanced line. I could hear my mouse whenever I moved it or clicked it. Ideally, get an audio interface and plug right into the monitors from it with balanced cables. Try http:/...

Re: 7 Hours + Of Free Reaktor Tutorials
Thank you, sir.
I like the video tutorials a lot but why am I so turned off by text tutorials? seems like they would take longer to make.

Thanks for the advice. I'm looking forward to seeing some replies to this thread. My drums sound ok but I really need to improve my synthesis techniques.

Re: Mixing Dubstep/Trvp with Serato Scratch
I got my question answered and even got a chance to feed the indigenous trolls.
Thanks Nevalo. I appreciate your answer.
All I needed to hear was "sort tracks by bpm." or "when mixing tracks with very different bpms, wait for a break in the drums."
The rest is douche baggery

Re: Mixing Dubstep/Trvp with Serato Scratch
Kind of disappointed in you guys. I asked as nicely as possible and some of you still can't give input without coming off as insulting. No wonder there is so much less traffic on this site than before.
If its a dumb question, just don't waste your time on it.

Mixing Dubstep/Trvp with Serato Scratch
I have been mixing dnb for years. All I have on vinyl is dnb that is usually produced in the 170bpm range give or take 5-10bpm. This week I got a chance to use my buddy's Serato box. It was the first time I attempted to mix dubstep with trap and electro. First time mixing any of these genres at all ...

Re: Melodies
Just keep practicing man. You can't get bored and hope that someone can explain how to become a better musician. You need to train your brain and that comes with experience. The only tip I can think of would be to get a few chords together and turn it into an arpeggio with the arpeggiator in FL. Tak...

Yeah, he responds to comments in posts sometimes too. down to earth guy.
I already have all the video editing software I could ever need. Not sure resolution is the issue but I'll test it out.

Re: Question About Scoring a Film in FL Studio
That's a tough one. I have tried to use FL for writing scores using their internal player, but as you said it is really unreliable. Are you getting the lag on the FL video player? If so I had the same issue. I just ended up watching the film, taking notes, end then visualizing what I just saw and w...

Re: FM from the ground up using fm8
Digging his new uploading schedule. I think he should stop using stock plugins now, he needs to add more variation to his tracks rather than using syturs, harmor, and vocodex. Would like to see some advanced reese tutorials like the chorus+distortion stacking, the resampling bit is just too easy to...
