Re: 12guage, Mantis, Sadhu, D-Jahsta, Dayn, Jphelpz Sounds

For machine gun basses, as suggested, chop up a nice bass you like and layer it with actual machine guns. When I make machine gun basses, I normally just layer a pretty simple massive patch with actual machine guns sounds, and then process them. Here is a tune of mine. The machine guns sounds okayi...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

Crimson - vocals, melodic elements all sound good. Gonna have to go with mtl6 on the cymbals though. LukeRaith - I can really feel the hip hop-ishness, I hope you add a lot more to it! Levels sound pretty good to me, maybe less high end? I don't know. mtl6 - sounds great to me, everything is in the ...

Re: Do pros conciously do stuff like call & response

I feel like most pros, like Datsik, Excision, etc. tend to use theme & variations more than call & response. By this I mean they create a bassline, play it for a few bars, then play the same bassline but with a different bass sound. They do this throughout certain tracks. This is different t...

Re: Song Names

Imagine a scenario during which your song might be played. Imagine a kind of person or thing your song might describe. How fast is it? How harsh is it? Does it have a major or minor key?

Re: Basslines too weak

Here's a few tips that I've used plenty of times... Use different sounds, but, for example, use 1 sound for a measure then switch to another sound for another measure. Don't switch back and forth way too fast for the listener to grasp. One trick I like to use is bouncing my main bass to audio, but k...

Re: Free drum kits with more than 3 toms?

http://beatproduction.net/sound-kits/9th-wonder-sound-kit--598/ Free download, includes like 6 (maybe 9?) great-sounding toms, along with a lot of other realistic percussion that is actually perfect for EDM. I use this pack in every one of my tracks... I usually only use 1 or 2 of the toms at a time...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

@ BudSpencertron : I like the Asian-ish strumming, and the groove of the track in general is really tight... I like the bass, not sure about that low voice sound, like the glitchiness. @ mthrfnk : Sounds really professional, mix sounds very complete and balanced. I love the disco-ness, although not ...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

Flywheel: I like it, but it seems like theres too much reverb going on. The WHOLE track sounds like its drenched in reverb. I would also like to hear a sub bass. It would seem to be so..... A puddle of reverb randomly plays whenever I open this project file; that should've been my first indicator.....

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

@KoastEDM ...I like the intro's groove, but I feel like the sound can be filled out a lot more. When it actually gets to the breakdown or whatever I really want to hear some movement/variation in that lead sound. Maybe turn the drums down a bit. @lloydy ....Not much to say here, liking the mix as a...

Re: How did you come across your producer name?

What's with the whole trend of reversing the letters in famous names. Like, Com Truise or Vodge Diper and.....well I can't think of anymore. And Mord Fustang, Vugatti Beyron...I actually came up with some of those myself that sound kinda catchy, although I'm not using any: Presh Frince Sten Biller ...

Re: If you could use only one sample pack....

My personal favorite (for drums at least) is the Davide Carbone DnB master class pack... It has such realistic samples... Another contender would be the "9th wonder" sample pack? I remember finding it as a free download somewhere and it ended up having some really sexy drums. Edit: Holy sh...

Re: WIP Thread - GIVE FEEDBACK TO OTHERS BEFORE POSTING!!!

i made a pertty gritty reese for my track. took me about two hours  the mix down is terrible and i just slapped a limiter on there for now, so shits sounding a bit foggy, but you get the idea. now i just gotta clean it up and add a plucky bass and change up the wobbly bass. let me know what y...

Added more layers in the intro/breakdown, made the drop more crisp and interesting.

Listen to this near the very end. Would you consider that a pretty similar sound? Because I can explain how to make that... (I am Strafe btw)
