Re: Home Studio Setup HELP?
Why? The Yamaha don't sound that great, we've got a pair at my uni. If you're going to ignore everyones advice why bothered posting on the forum? Don't buy cheap monitors, you get what you pay for.

Re: trying to choose some good speakers
You want monitors mate not hi-fi speakers. For under $300 get a second hand pair off Mackies/Adams.

Re: Most proffesional plug ins you guys use
Waves, Soundtoys, UAD and Native Instruments. I used the Liquid Mix for all my Compression and EQ'ing. I use a few plug-ins that are less well know, its good to use some off the less obvious ones to create your own sound too.

Re: Home Studio Setup HELP?
Don't get KRK Rokits man, they colour the sound way too much! Everyone always falls into the trap off buying them because they sound 'nice" and they're cheap, you don't want studio monitors to sound nice, you want them to sound true. Remember you're monitors are your window into sound, chose ca...

Fitting Outboard into a Rack.
Hey guys, another outboard question. I'm wondering if there is anyway i can fit my Focusrite Saffire 6 (witch is half the size off a normal piece off gear) into a 4U Rack. Can't find any rack ears for it, wasn't sure if i could place a piece off wood into the rack and slide it on that? Also not sure...

Re: Patchbay to Interface??
Ahh thought as much. How would i connect a pair off mackies up, and a couple off piece off outboard gear up to my interface then? Would the only option be buying a new one?

Patchbay to Interface??
Hey guys, i need more in's & out's on my interface witch is a Focusrite Saffire 6, can i not just get say a Behringer Ultrapatch Pro PX2000 Patchbay to extend my in's & out's (to connect outboard gear too), rather than forking out £££ for a new interface? Or is that not how it works? Cheers ...

Monitors - 8 Inch Cone VS 5 Inch
Ez guys, i've been doing my research on monitors and these are the two that i'm stuck between. I need the low end response from a bigger cone, but i will be working in a very small room, say 3 average steps from front to back. The room will be fully treated, but i can't help thinking that the MR8 wi...

Optimize a Mac for Audio
Ez guys, i know that there has been a lot off discussion online about whether or not there is a lot you can optimise on a mac. As there are no official ways that you can optimise a mac for audio performance, i thought that we could use this thread to share any tips that you've picked up along the wa...

Re: CPU / Logic Issue.
Unlocked the cores? Whats that all about mate, never heard off the before? What sort off things did you customised on you're pc? I've done a few bits on my mac but nothing seems to make a different. My buffer speed is 256 in Logic as well. Yeah i understand that using multi instants off Kontakt and ...

Re: CPU / Logic Issue.
@fragments - Sorry mate, my processor is 2.5 Ghz Intel Core i5. For example a project i'm working on now has around 10 instants off Kontakt and Omnisphere (five off each). And around 20 channels off audio files. I used the freeze option in Logic and froze everything, but i had to bounce the track 10...

CPU / Logic Issue.
Hey all, as i'm sure many off you do i've got an issue witch i think is down to my CPU. Logic Pro 9 is what i'm running with a Focusrite Liquid Mix 32 witch should be taking some off the processing power, my interface is a Saffire 6 (upgrading soon to a Pro 40), my Mac has 4GB ram and a 500GB HD in ...
