Re: Zulishanti X Sauniks - Come Back ft Lokka [174 BEWARE]

Thanks a ton for the feedback fellaz! We got feedback from EDMTunes as well, they were a little more harsh, but it's all a fun learning process! Anyway I came back on here to let you guys know, thanks to Sauniks' connect at KickKickSnare, this track is now on Hype Machine! if you guys enjoyed it and...

Re: Skrillex-Bangarang snare recreated (Ableton 9 project)

this is really fucking cool how you made it, and i've seen that technique used before, can't remember what tutorial or who it was. but i hate to say it, this is one way around the tree, you are going left around the tree, i am going right (by compression/eq/sample choice/effects processing) both of ...

Zulishanti - The Platform(Exp,Dark,Amb,PinkFloyd/Tool)[WIP]

hey guys, been a long minute since i posted something up here so i'm excited to show my face again. i've been exploring music in general so compared to my old stuff, this is pretty "out-there" this is a very dark, ambient, semi-progressive dubstep track. i've never really made anything qui...

Re: Lowering the master fader vs individual tracks

About the original post: no mixer channel is clipping ever, and usually at unity gain my master is clipping approx 1-2db, so I just pull it down until I have around 3db headroom on the loudest parts of my mix this works totally fine, the point i was taking forever to get to, is that i don't see a n...

Re: Lowering the master fader vs individual tracks

i think you're confused or i'm confused m8. did you read my whole post? the first thing i said was ableton specific, and i specified. also specifically said not to turn down the master at all *IMO*. and i also said after a certain point there isn't much left up to my engineer. if a mixer channel in ...

Re: Lowering the master fader vs individual tracks

yep multiband sidechaining, i know what you're talking about. it's a balance you gotta find. to be frank, and im not, im andrew. i've almost completely done away with sidechaining an entire frequency range of an instrument. i've gotten it to the point where you almost don't even notice that it's bei...

Re: How do some guys get away without Panning

i find ableton's utility plugin's stereo separation does the trick. everyone on this thread is dead on as far as panning. i've used it to mix up my highs in my drum sets. IE one shaker slight right a different sample of a shaker slight left. or making use of the autopan plugin. i've also used it to ...

Re: Lowering the master fader vs individual tracks

depends what software you use. ableton's mixer tracks will appear to be clipping but it's just a warning, they don't actually clip till i think +60db or something (correct me), however, when the master shows clipping. it is CLIPPING. so you have alot more headroom in the mixer tracks than on the mas...
