Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Keep in mind, his goal is not to replicate their sound. Because this is pointless. He's trying to understand their technique, and from what I can hear the technique is rather similar.

Re: MineSweepa Growl
Ahh.. Well Darby is apart of Dawinism (which is a producers group a few friends and myself founded). If I remember correctly the sound is a reese (meaning detune saw waves). The main modulation comes from the following : A pitch being (going upwards about 1.5 octaves) a Highpass filter and Chorus. C...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
If you feel comfortable their are a decent amount of FL users in this thread. You can post the FLP. I've been on here for a while now, and I can say when people post project files it's generally a lot easier. Though the ALS people would be pretty pissed lol. (I don't think their are many if any at ...

Re: The Official Growl Bass Thread
Personally I want the two-three that are in Alien Poisoning since that is the track that you first discovered those sounds. But, your really going to type this? Damn, that's going to be a lot of work my friend. If you do though, I guess attach screen shots as well, since that will make it easier for...

Re: The Reese Bass Thread
Ahh. See someone finally posted Zuggbugs tutorial. He's told me that using Vocodex later in the stage when making reeses addeds a nice texture. Seems to be a good idea. He has other tutorials on there for reeses if anyone is interested as well. But, yeah thanks for posting that, we need the support!

Re: Hard 'machine gun' basses? how.
I don't normally post my own videos. But I made a tutorial in this recently. It may help. Basically all you need (as stated time and time again) is a heavily distorted rich (harmonically) bass. Good OSC for this (in massive) are Digigrain/cook with phase modulation, and possibly crude. Then after ma...

MakO (Dan) hasn't quit producing by any means. He still produces. I'm friends with him on facebook (his actually regular page) he occasionally (or has in the past) posted random little WIPs and failed ideas. The MakO project and alias is just on a temporary leave it seems. Maybe he''s starting a new...

Re: how to get that metallic sound like mantis/exude?
To make metallic sound use Delay and High end reverb with high damp settings. The core of the effect comes from a very fast delay though, preferable done in parallel on another mix. Then mixing the dry/wet signals together.
