Re: Microphone volume HELP!!!

This is like an extremely basic audio issue. If you think you know anything about audio, but don't know this, you don't know anything about audio. Everything starts at the source, so in this case it is your voice. First thing is learn how to address the mic, how to talk into the mic, what angle wor...

Re: Microphone volume HELP!!!

Use a compressor. Set the threshold low enough for your voice and raise the gain. Thanks, I'll try out a compressor :-D! Do you think it's better to record too low so you can't hear me or too loud so that it clips :\? Or should I record loud then just move way back from the microphone when I start ...

Microphone volume HELP!!!

Hello :-D,

I am using the se2200A for commentating but I'm trouble getting the audio loud enough when I talk. I turned up the volume on my interface but then when I talk loud or scream it clips like mad. The pad switch isn't helping me much either.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Re: Singing and Vocal Questions!

I think what you're after is Falsetto in terms of the Muse stuff, I'd imagine it requires more training than regular singing since you're essentially straining your voice beyond what it normally does. Pop vocals like the examples you posted are almost always layered, they do multiple takes and laye...

Singing and Vocal Questions!

How's it going guys? I have a couple question I have been wondering for awhile now, so if you could answer them that would be great! 1. What's the best way to learn to sing? 2. How can I learn to write music? Is there an actually theory behind it or can you put words together randomly that flow. (I ...

Re: Reggae "dun dun dun" sound + Other Questions (vocoder)

It's a guitar playing up-strokes on the off beats. The device you're describing is called a talkbox. Thanks bro helped me a ton! How did you learn all that? Is there a certain name for the guitar or is it just a regular guitar? Like jonah said, the DUN thing is a guitar playing up beats. Sample it ...

Reggae "dun dun dun" sound + Other Questions (vocoder)

Hey I was wondering what instrument that "dun dun dun" sound is in reggae songs. It's in almost every reggae song I've heard and Skrillex also uses it in some of his song like "First Of The Year (Equinox) and Make It Bun Dem." Is it like a Reggae guitar or is there a specific nam...

How do you come up with an original catchy name?

How do you come up with an original catchy producer name? Deadmau5 got his name from a mouse that died in his computer, but I don't have a dead mouse to stuff in my computer :| Does it matter what the name is as long as you make good music or will having a random name effect you in any negative ways...

Re: Mic for singing/shock mount, stand & reflector for Proj.

I am deciding to go with the SE 2200A :)

Can someone please link me a reflector and a stand for the SE 2200A that is reasonably priced :)? The microphone comes with a nice shock mount so I am set on that.

Re: Mic for singing/shock mount, stand & reflector for Proj.

Green you be trollin. You're going to buy a fifty dollar mic, and a hundred dollar stand? To anyone reading this in the future, consider an Audio Technica 3035. Used they're around $100 and are a very good mic. Naww I am not trolling XD! The B1 is actually $120 and I decided to go with it because o...

Best shock mount, stand & reflector for the Project B1 mic

What is the best shock mount I can get for around $100? I am also looking for the best stand and reflector I can get for my Studio Project B1 microphone. I am willing to pay around $200 for the reflector and $100 for the stand.

Thanks :)!

Re: KRK 10S vs 12S (subwoofers) + Room treatment help!

move around the room, sit in different places, just listen really. you'll soon hear what corner of the room sounds like you're in a nightclub with function1 bassbins but no tweeters and what corner sounds like you're in your mates ford fiesta with the parcel shelf removed. Ideally you want where yo...
