Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Hmm everyone kinda liked the breaks sample more than I thought apparently. Honestly it was meant to just be a very subtle element panned to one side to add a little bit of quiet swing to the beat, but I'll have to experiment with making it more noticeable now. Thanks everybody. And yeah I think I ju...

Re: Are Macs actually better than PC's?
If you have the budget for it and don't do any serious gaming then I think it's absolutely worth it for the build quality, customer support and ease of use. Nothing wrong with PC either though; especially if you're on a tight budget

Everyone got feedback on their SoundClouds directly
Overall probably my favorite week I've been a part of so far. Everyone brought something real solid.

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
D-FAULT: Agree that it's maybe not the strongest track I've heard from you so far, but I want to like this because the basis is sick. I feel like if you keep this vibe, maybe ditch the piano panned to the right, and just go balls-out heavy with the main riff. The "DA-DA-DA..... DA-DA-DA" t...

@bud
Nah man all brand new shit. Trying to bridge that witch/indie pop gap. Gonna put vocals in as I said above.

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Danny: Tunes got a certain nice swing to it, but it needs way more separation of sound. I think the midrange ting could be a little less gritty and the drums and little more pronounced. It sounds very "loop"-ish at the moment. I dig the bell-dem too. Yeah it really is a straight up loop I...

Re: What is your method of producing bass lines?
Come up with a pattern in your head while treating the bass as something more rhythmic and percussive, draw the pattern into your piano roll as a basic default massive patch, change the notes to whatever you want while keeping the timing/amount of notes the same. After that it's just a matter of dec...

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Everyone got some feedback sprinkled onto their actual soundcloud tracks from me!
@nsj I'll consider it, but I might want to keep my dignity. Showing them would be like a bunch of people I really respect seeing me battle a horrible case of diarrhea for two hours with the bathroom door open.

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
I've started 3 different loops/wips/whatever using those samples since early last week and I ended up hating each one. They're honestly embarrassingly terrible and I'll never use them for anything, so I didn't see the point in asking for feedback on them. I sound like I'm being pretty harsh on mysel...

Do we have to ONLY use the samples, or can we add some extra bits?

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
FEEDBACK: Fault: I feel like the samples you've chosen and everything are perfect, they're just begging to have one or two more elements added(but I'm sure you already know this). Obviously some vocals would do the trick and would be the most logical next step to take; but if you're keeping it instr...

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
@nsj: I read you loud and clear on the loudness war-esque comments on Beyond The Days; I've made plenty of stuff in the past under different names that was fairly dynamic and mixed properly etc, but for this new stuff I very much intentionally went for a huge, overpowering wall of sound and atmosphe...

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
I'd be up for trying some DnB stuff(never really tried before). Would it have to be based on those stems or could we do our own thing?
@nsj Try a RadioShack if you can find one, even online. They're going out of business.

Re: "Witch-House" discussion?
I'd absolutely love a resurgence regardless of what name it arrives under; trying to evolve the sound myself as well to play a part in that. To me, the sound of the genre really comes into focus with shit like Blvck Ceiling. Very loud and spacey... ugly synths mixed with melodic melodies etc.. a bit...

"Witch-House" discussion?
I know I'm a few years late to the party, but I'm just now discovering "witch-house" tracks that I really enjoy. I've tried finding some legit spots on the magical land of the internet to discuss it and swap tunes etc; the only semi-lucretive site being "witch-house.com". I belie...

Re: TUNA! LIVES FOREVER
Give me a couple more days to give a detailed response to all of these tracks; I did five tracks in the last four days mixing in mostly headphones and my ears are doing that "I feel clogged because you're an idiot for listening too loudly" thing at the moment. Gonna give them a break. Liki...
