Mac users

I used to write tunes on a windows laptop until it died, when my work replaced it with a powerbook. Which is sweet, but I wanna write tunes again, and can't get hold of any fuckin software for it; anyone know where I should go?

Deaf dubsteppers?

Anyone heard of deaf people going to a dubstep dance? A mate of mine told me about a night he helped put on aimed at the deaf, at Plastic People, where they got shitloads of extra rig in to make sure everyone could feel the bass good and proper. Which makes me think dubstep bass weight is the perfec...

The only real problem I find with beatmatching dubstep is that sometimes two tunes use really quite different grooves (or quantisation), say with different amounts of swing... So they can be completely in time, but it just doesn't sound right. But once you know what mixes work and what don't, it's n...

Easy Pete, keep it up mango! String melody is ace, but I'm not so keen on the deeper parts - something needs changing there. They work during the amen I reckon, but not the first part. And I like the beat, although I'd prefer a bigger/sharper/distorted snare, and I'm not entirely convinced by the am...

Last year I played a selection of the best dubstep of 2004 to a near-empty room at Hijack in Bristol. This year me and the ThinKing will play a selection of the best dubstep of 2005 to a slightly less empty room at Hijack in Bristol. We're on at 2.30, dunno if I can handle staying unmashed

I think dubstep is more than just a replacement for drum n bass... Anyway, I'd say some of dubstep is dark as fuck; Horror Show ain't exactly a happy tune... But it doesn't have to be, take Congo for instance. I think for me, the range of flavours is one of the most important aspects of dubstep. Dif...
