cheers for the comments, duely noted just got an email form a producer pall of mine who was saying exactly the same thing, the beats are far too quiet. to be honest i used next to fuck all compression on the beats just multi band and limiting over the whole track so the the percussion hasnt really c...

a simple technique and can add depth and harmonics is:
to duplicate the midi notes, create a new instance of the bass synth with same patch but change the fillering to a high-pass or boast the resonance and play around the cut off,

i wouldnt recognise normalising anything its a destructive edit, i'd say subtle limiting or just a/b your mixes, refference them against other comercial releases or you own tracks.

not always a fave for sub, but nice for writing bass lines due to its simple uncluttered layout, the pro53's one of my faves. very stripped down not to many paramenters and its got a delay you can actually use on b-lines (due to cut-offs) without it sounding ridiculously cluttered and muddy.

ok..which do you want, the good news or the bad news first? i'll asume the good news... theres two types of time streaching in logic to my knoledge, one is acessed by holding down the 'audio' tab in the top left hand corner of the arrange page which brings up a drop down menu. on this menu theres a ...

yeah i havent really got the grasp of digital mixing really, i'm not adverse to jamming and playing live in abelton etc. ive seen it pulled of to great effect. but pushing platter still wins hands down for me, mixing is so much more intuitive and tactile with records, but cutting dubs is'nt economic...

easy, must of missed this the first time round. this mix is highgrade! a dope selection, sounds like shameless self promotion but pleased to hear my track roll out amongst such quality unsigned beats. Narcossist and parson's tracks steal the show for me. defininately send some more bits your way, (o...

i like this, liking the hardcore-esc drum fills, i'd say the mixdown sounds a bit flat though the drums dont really punch through the mix, the bass is sick but i'd say hammer the eq or multi band compression a bit more, i'm told all elements need space within the frequency range so this might mean c...

decent sounding clean ethnic percussion, in my opinion the synths to bright and the bass pattern moves up a down to much which upsets the groove a bit, decent dynamics on the drums though, though kick could do with being a bit less reverby in my opinion, i'd be more scrutinous over the sounds you in...

yeah, the beats are nice and loose i like that some of the percussion has a live kit feel, its quite a hectic mixdown though, seems to be loads of stereo effects or panning (but saying that i'm listening on headphones) i often find sticking a lot of stuff in mono tends to keep the mix driving and us...

sickness! hectic, reminds me of tech itch... the use of breaks sound hectic and theres some good grimey percussion and stabs. i generally find rinsing out the breaks at this tempo is hard to pull off as the tune can sound a bit sluggish, but here its done with great effect. an unusual style i'm fell...
