Assuming you want to send different instruments to 1 channel. open the instrument properties box-the generic one that all instruments have. In the top right there will be a small box displaying --, change this value from -- to -1 and it is routed to mixer channel 1, -2 is channel 2. Also dont forget...

Practice! start with a simple synth to start off with, such as free alpha from linplug or one that comes with your DAW. Turn all the oscs off except 1, then play with the filters and routing, once you know whats going on turn on another osc and see how the sound is affected. Read the various "h...

forget wasp, use 3osc+read the threads about wobble etc in the sticky. Messing around with the synths is half the fun IMO

RTFM lol! Maybe the reason it stops recording after 4 beats is because its set to the standard pattern length? you could always try clipping the snare, normalise it in a wave editor, amplify it as much as you can before it sounds distorted, then sample it out. then replace the snare with the clipped version, it will almost always sound louder with more body at a lower volume. dont have a mac so can't give specific advice, but have you told audacity where the lame codec is? if you have try deleting and redownloading the Lame codec, if that doesnt help try uninstalling audacity then reinstalling it, then when you 1st try to save an MP3 it will ask you where the Lame codec ...
