Re: Percieved volume vs. Power?
ez BasicA. i think if u want to know bit more about percieved loudness n shit then read into psychoacoustics. basically there was this study into how the ear percieves sound of different frequencies. Serious, check out a Fletcher Munson curve. They found that the ear percieves frequencies at differe...

Re: Help a naive punk make a very important musical purchase
a decent sample pack is useful if u just wanna make dubstep in your bedroom etc but it'll only go so far!
they're a good basis for constructing drum kits and you'll have effects/wooshes/hits, but as for the 'wobble' you really need to make your own signature sound.
Good luck with it all tho

Yo Grand Master Smash! http://soundcloud.com/skyh/grand-master-smash just had a listen bruv. im really feelin the main drop (after 1:23, when lowness kicks in) and i like the way youve fucked with the wobble/bass lead part - the mix is tight too! my only beef with it is the intro. if u want budget hardware comp's to play with, NEVER buy samson or behringer cos theyre dirt. the cheapest decent comp ive used is the alesis 3630. it works and sounds ok plus its got a simple but effective gate on it and a stereo link. check it bruv. but there's always joemeek stuff. he's a legend ...

These swedish badboys play with 8-string guitars and are heavy as frig. ok, 8 strings mite seem like a gimmic but they are filth and a bit mathy - id say 'mathcore' but anything with a '-core' in it is a bit pants at...

of course the sub works otherwise it'd have been pointless posting  ! I tested it by taking the +/- output of the Amp and placing it on the +/- inputs of the sub's XOver; worked a treat. That's why im asking the question. Its passive and the load is the same as the Amp output (8ohm) so providi...

man needs some speaker wiring advice innit
Right, here's one for ya.... found a 500w sub in a skip yesterday and its got a Speakon/Neutrik cable input on it and my amp has only got banana plugs on it (them windy-roundy cable things). the problems is thus... the sub input (speakons) has 3 pins - positive, 0/ground and negative - whereas the b...

well not really cos time only moves forwards so you have some crazy vortex that sucks sound out of reality. Remeber, Freq = 1/Time so to have a negative freq it'd be like..... just not possible. Negative frequencies SOMETIMES occur in digital sampling theory (for look at digital filters and Aliasing...
