hardware is great, and almost always sounds better than software. you can get software to sound close to hardware, but it takes a lot of tricks and engineering I'm thoroughly convinced that the main reason people tout software is because you can steal it. If you actually paid the retail price for so...

I think if you're looking for warmth, your best bet is to invest in a decent channel strip or 2 channel pre. You don't really need 16+ channels of pre's and EQ if your just looking to run your plugins through some analogue gear. and as someone said above, the first step is to make sure you have good...

I think I can shed some light on this Every August there is a drought anywhere that depends on indoor commercial growers. the draught is proportional to how hot it is in june and july. Many people decide not to grow, and/or lose crops this time of year because the heat put out by the HPS lamps is di...

Right now you seem a bit fanatic about a set of monitors you've never honestly spent any real time with. Just drop it man. True. but I'm just fanatic about all speakers in general.. PA too, and these are a pair of monitors I was really really interested in at one point, as were a lot of people. Any...

I read about 4 pages of the first link and got tired of these 40+ year old menopausal geezers trying to justify their opinions by spouting how they'd received $18,000 cheques for work they'd done. Doesn't make them right does it  Or good. As there are crap producers and mastering houses out t...

Well, first off I take issue with whoever wrote that review. The man clearly and obviously doesn't know how to use a sub. They have volume and crossover controls for a reason.. so that the sub is a smooth extension of the frequency range, not something that something that pumps up anything below 80h...

2. I don't know what setup those users have who post on forums, more than likely it's their setup that is incorrect and leading to poor mixdowns, not the monitors themselves. That's probably more the case - room modes can really f*ck with your low end mix if you're not careful But this is exactly w...

What the crack are you smoking?!!?! When you buy the hr824s you get an individual print out for each monitor on it's frequency response. The whole point of the hr824s is that they have a flat response down to 30hz which is where the roll-off occurs with no boost. I think you need to read up on your...

I would recommend that you NOT buy the 824s. There is a significant boost in the low end that you will always have to consider while mixing, and the low end is also said to be muddy and poorly defined. if your low end is pumped up during mixing, it will come out weak in the club Depending on your bu...

TORONTO - JULY 8 - CANCELLED!! JME, Wiley & Maximum

Sorry to everyone that was planning on attending this show. Blackmarket, the primary promoter, decided to cancel the show this morning due to financial risk (last minute change of venue, etc). This decision had nothing to do with either Waste Management or Subtrac. We were just as surprised and diss...
