Re: Gear lust

If you're ever in Amsterdam and you happen to have the 824's on you, hit me up. ahhh sorry, I wasn't saying I actually owned any 824's… it was a hypothetical situation to which I was referring :) I do have access to a pair at my work though, but I'm fairly sure the boss'd notice if they went "...

Re: Gear lust

So after swearing that I would end my terrible bout of recent G.A.S, I just went and pulled the trigger on a pair of Equator D5's didn't I! Too good to miss, they're really hard to get in Australia and shipping them from the US whacks the price up something fierce. As new condition but already...

This just happened on a friend's status right now. Some dude who believes that Facehuggers are real and are actually a type of rare sea spider found in Antartica  http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb1/tryploptix/Screen%20Shot%202015-04-10%20at%201.55.46%20AM.png If only he was trolling. Re: Gear lust

Is it consistently the same time late? I think that can be handled with track delay. If it varies each time, which is something I've experienced, it is a drag. People be calling that midi jitter (which is a good name for a cat, btw). Ask these midi dudes. Last time I had an elaborate midi setup... ...

Re: Gear lust

Definitely going to pick up a Sample, was supposed to have one by now but blew all my budget on other things. I'm having a nightmare with syncing all my hardware to Ableton at the moment (I usually use Logic but am moving away from it) - it's just not tight at all. The Volcas start as much as a 1/16...

Re: Gear lust

So, is the volca bass anything more than a tb303 clone? And anybody wanna buy one? :) I think the Bass is a great box - in many ways it suits my needs more than the Keys. The tuneable oscillators are a big plus, making it good for dubby chords and such. But i'm finding it a bit limited for bass sou...

Re: Gear lust

@3rdEye: I have a love hate relationship with my Volca Keys...but the Volca Sampler looks interesting...but the MicroGranny...I know that'll be a beast... I like the sound of the Keys (apart from that delay lol) and it's got some really nice performance capabilities, nice tight envelopes etc. But i...

Re: Gear lust

How do you like that Beatstep? I used to have that Roland SDE-2000. It was a nice digital delay. The Beatstep's cool if a bit limited. I bought it maybe 2 days before they unleashed the Pro at NAMM (damm). I'm going to keep it, probably just to modulate something through CV - such as the modulation...

It's probably about time that I started participating in this thread, seeing that it has been partially responsible for a massive bout of G.A.S I've been going through lately - cheers guys! In the last month or two I've picked up a bunch of hardware and am slowly moving away from a computer/DA...

Re: Bassline/Niche Bass, any specialists?

just two osc's right? and how many octaves between them? i've always wanted to make them sorta bassline syths like dj ej, burgaboy and dj q and use them in experimental ways, but never been able to smooth out the sound like they have, how did you tackle smoothing the square out? ty for this thread ...

Virus TI Snow for me, within a couple of hours it became indispensable. Although I've got a fair bit of hardware, I'm terribly lazy with it, so the TI is perfect for my workflow.

Re: Clean AU sampler similar to Ableton Live's "Sampler"?

Been thinking about this myself lately. Much prefer the Sampler device to EXS24 now. You could check out Nuance by New Sonic Arts (http://www.newsonicarts.com/html/nuance.php) which is quite a simple plugin but sounds wicked. Definitely closer to Sampler than the EXS24. I use Granite a lot which aga...

Re: Tes La Rok - Xtrack & Tutorial

I could do Cold Blooded tutorial. That's excellent idea. I might not have all the sounds (like basedrum, snare) but I can re-create it bout the same. I'll look into this soon. :h: Awesome! It's one of the true dubstep classics imo, would be great for people to see how you created it. Big ups!

Re: Tes La Rok - Xtrack & Tutorial

Many thanks for doing this! It's great to get such an insight into your workflow and production techniques inside Logic X, there's not a great deal out there from established producers at the moment. So big ups for putting the project file forward! The stock synths in Logic are wicked, still rinse t...
