Re: DSF Q&A 21: Objekt

hey objekt would be interested to hear if u have a particular method or any tips for arranging / structuring your tunes? Your arrangements are always interesting and very natural sounding. It's by far the part of music making i find the most challenging and I often end up with tons of different 16/3...

lil silva / zomby bass sounds? (ableton)

hi all I've been making a lot of grime-ish beats lately in Ableton but i'm having trouble getting the kind of bass sound that I really want. Can somebody help? The kind of tracks i'm thinking of in particular are these melters: Zomby - No http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tIFVkr6aSw Lil Silva - Gobble...

miserable stnuc. Actually, did you hear their radio 1 show they did? Weirdly they seem like really good fun, cracking jokes every five seconds (and playing shitloads of good music too, probably the most dubstep radio 1 has had on in the early evening) Granted though, they don't really need the accl...

Just as a response to anyone who's asking why Burial ? Why not anyone else. totally +1 Also, one point which everyone seems to've forgotten is that it's an award for an ALBUM. As much as there have been a load of great dubstep 12"s around in the last year, there's hasn't exactly been loads of ...

thanks for this man. Squarepusher = total legend! I'm from chelmsford same as him, and when i was like 14 or so in the early/mid nineties I saw him a couple of times at the local YMCA, when he just played with a drum machine and bass, total junglist mayhem. Saw him at the glade in '05 (or maybe it w...

fucking big tune. I love shackleton's 4x4 stuff, that constant kick pulse is almost like a skeletal base from which he can hang all of his intricate rhythmic flourishes and stuff. It just works so well imo. Death is not final sounds amazing in a minimal techno mix.

anyone hear that band from a couple'three years ago that zane lowe was in (not sure what he played, maybe he was just the hypeman). They were called Breaks Co-op, and as well as having the shittest band name ever, they were the total epitome of middle-aged, post-crowded house acoustic circle-jerk in...
