Topic: Why Do You Produce?

Started about 5 years ago making nu school breaks. Dubstep has similar feel to some of the heavier breaks i was into - but the beats are way more fun to produce.

By why do i do it? Just fun. And to hear your own shit on a big system is a buzz.

Im not biased. In fact - if i was it would be towards a PC. But - i've found mac's to be getting better since they started using intel chips. And its not a money thing. I more bought the mac for serato and to actually have a laptop. Logic and all the rest is a bonus - why not learn it.

NO! I've been collecting vinyls since 94. Yeah 320's are good - and i do play on serato if theres no vinyl. But 99.9% of the time i will still buy vinyl if i can. Its just a shame there's alot of good stuff out on digital and not vinyl. So to be on top of the game with the freshest dubs - im forced ...

If u digitally clip inside your audio program, your bounces will most definatly sound like crap. Most audio programs have extra headroom to play with - but when bounced - those extreme peaks will just get chopped off and clip/distort in your mixdown - even tho your audio program shows no clipping. I...

fl studio move 2 Logic

Just trying to move production from fruity to logic - any tips or techniques for the move? Im allready noticing some dis-advantages of logic over fruity in the way that i write. Stacking of synths and there patterns is gunna be so messy in logic - but i can visualize what i have to do - just messy. ...

I had one of these about 2 weeks ago. I was doing final touches to a track and bam - death - never to be recovered. I had saved a very early version of the track seperate - i was able to load it. Awesome yeah? No - after working on it for about 20 mins i had a spontanous crash to desktop (hence name...

Yes - Fostex PM2's with matching sub. I use it 78% of the time. Sometimes I mute it - check clarity at higher decibel and then un-mute to make sure sub db isnt too heavy. Its not a "must have" for production - but i really like those sub freq's - and it makes listening SO much more pleasur...

Every single sound has its own unique freq - you cannot formulize it with a set EQ. You have to EQ every sound seperatly on the fly. I dont allways put eq on as soon as i add to the mix tho. I try to find sounds that work dry together - then start sharpening up with eq's after it allready sounds goo...

Re: Thanks

Nice tune, it's solid. IMHO, it doesn't quite have that extra bit of flare or that quirk that makes it excellent and irresistible. But that's no real criticism since most tunes don't have that and my taste is probably idiosyncratic. Well done in any case. Solid. Dude - i know what you mean! Trying ...

I started on Cubase VST back in 03. Quickly progressed to FL4 after i saw a mate using it to write complete tracks. Im still on FL after 5 years - its just so damn quick and easy! But - i feel like a logic/mac upgrade coming on in the future...
