Alright, I got the reason demo (and I can see why some people aren't so crazy about this one), but apparently demos are not available for logic or cubase. :(

I'll be checking out those others listed by £10 Bag this week.

Yeah, you're right. After re-reading that message, I sound like a real asshole! That was definitely rude of me to make the "fucking stupid" comment. Sorry. I was kinda drunk when I wrote that. I know you were legitimately trying to help, so I deserve that flame. My bad. Let me start over.....

Slightly oaky mids? WTF? Are we talking about Chardonney or software? First of all, I'm not downloading demos. Test drives will not work for me. That might work for people who are well-versed in the things they like, what their preferences are, etc., but I'm gonna have to take some time to figure th...

Cubase works best with hardware thats why. Alright, cool, but can you elaborate on this? What specific kinds of hardware? You talking samplers and synthesizers or what? I'm a total noob, and at this point, I don't have the kinda coin ya need to put together anything resembling a real studio, so I'm...

In particular, I'd like to know which of these programs will give me the most control in the most intuitive and user-friendly way possible? Just assume price is not an issue whatsoever.

Surprisingly, not a lot of you are big on Cubase. Hearing mainly Logic and Reason. I'm running a mac, and I'm gonna pick up some new software soon. Price isn't a major concern. Can anyone offer a quick pro's/con's rundown regarding these three pieces of software?

sounds good. thanks.

i found the academic version on eBay for $200, and since my girlfriend is still a student, i can still pick up that one, so it's not a bad deal at all.

the academic version is identical to the standard version, in terms of functionality, correct?

i don't want to drop the cash on cubase 4 today if a new version is gonna hit the shelves in a month. anybody know anything about this?

NOOB question - finding drum samples by BPM

I searched and couldn't find what I was looking for, so I apologize in advance if I just overlooked it and am now forcing the forum to be redundant. So I'm looking for some drum samples (snare, in particular), and obviously there are myriad free samples available, but I can't find what I'm looking f...
