Thanks a million, junglist! I opened them with Audacity and saved them in a different place, also cropped them a bit so I would be sure they would be re-encoded, and it worked! Deadly Habit, not exactly, what I was dealing with, useful info nonetheless:) Also they only had been eq-d at that stage wi...

Rendering problem[solved]

I just ran into a weird problem with FL 8. I am using different samples and among these 2 shaker samples, which were perfectly normal when played through the DAW, but when I rendered a clip to send my pal they are barely audible :? I tried with other formats too, and the result is the same. Has anyo...

Why would you want lots of patches 'n' stuff? Wouldn't that make everything boring?

I dunno, what a "ghost snare" is, but try using the same sample as your main snare, but gating it, so it will be utterly short, just the impact sound, and putting these in between your drums like 1/8 before your snare etc. Also make sure, these short hits don't have any delay or reverb.

Slice to midi alows you to take a loop/sample and slices it up into a drum rack, each slice with it's own chanel, and creates a midi clip, with a note to play each slice. so if you move the notes you change the order of the sounds. most daws did it like ages ago, live seems to have.. fallen behind..

I didn't say that neither is better or of higher quality, I merely pointed out, why one is more popular than the other

What's everybody talking about the reason's sequencer being shite? IMO Reason 4 has the best sequencer of all DAWs. One of the most annoying things with reason is when you get to bigger things with more rack items, the wires get confusing(even if you use combinator, the wires protruding from combis ...

Legal issues

I noticed I am cumulating quite a collection of self-made and proccesed samples, loops etc. and I thought of sorting them, making more and releasing a free(or donationware) samplepack. What I am concerned about is, that I used some other people's work(other sample packs, fruity's bundled samples etc...
