Roof Light - In Your Hands ep (Styrax)

Definitely a new direction for the German Techno label Styrax. Some tracks defiantly have a Burial vibe & whilst it's nothing new i still think it's a lovely ep.

Musical Pilgrimage

When i was growing up listening to hip hop in the early 80s, i always dreamt of living in Queens & The Bronx to see & be apart of what was happening culturally & musically. Same thing happened when i got into Detroit Techno. I was however lucky enough to witness & be a part of our ow...

This thread/topic bothers me...it seems to me that to come out and flat-out ask a question like this is not only too easy, but begging for people to ignore their own bias. You seriously think you're gonna get an honest response from some xenophobe when asking this question(and to go further, do you...

Re: Who best to Represent.

If you had to select 5 Artist, 5 Labels & 5 DJs to represent what Dubstep is about, who would you pick? If possible, please tell me why you've made those choices. One other question: Are there negative attitudes about Dubstep being made outside the UK by non-uk artists? Cheers people, S. this s...

Re: Who best to Represent.

Are there negative attitudes about Dubstep being made outside the UK by non-uk artists? What does this actually mean? It means, are non uk dubstep producer given the same respect & consideration as home grown producers or do people get a bit guarded & precious about "Their" scene.

Personally, No, but some people do & that's why i ask. Some people have a problem with the legitimacy of music if it's not made by a specific race or from a specific area. It shouldn't be that way but it is. Another example is Detroit Techno, a lot of the Detroit artists have a big problem with ...

Re: Who best to Represent.

Are there negative attitudes about Dubstep being made outside the UK by non-uk artists? Yep,if you make it outside of the UK without the correct licensing then they WILL find and kill you. Most amusing  But back in the early / old school hip hop days music NOT coming out of NY was frowned upon.
