Re: How you finding new music these days
I have no idea.
Techno I'll often go into record stores and ask to listen to all the techno though and complain that none of it's dark or noisy enough.
Somehow black metal record labels keep getting my email address too so sometimes I'll check em out and maybe buy something.

Re: Gear lust
I've got an original MS 20 so it's exactly what I need to be honest. The local store here that sells synths, controllers and effects and shit sold out of their initial stock of them in like a day and the dude who owns the store won't stop going on about how great they are

Re: Gear lust
The SQ-1 looks cool, like a little Volca sequencer. But why just have one cv sequencer when you could have two cv sequencers, plus 8 channels of cv drum gates plus MIDI? Actually the SQ-1 does quite a lot. Most importantly though it's able to do the right CV for Korg MS20s http://createdigitalmusic...

So all the kids with controllers can fuck with a perfectly alright finished piece of music someone wrote and ruin it even worse than what people already do with all the stupid looping and shit you see in tech demo videos at the moment.

Dunno about the whole thing of getting somewhere with bands while young thing Ultra. Swans' first album came out when Gira was 29 and it was one of the most brutal records at the time (still is really). Since then they have released a shitload of records that are amazing and are still together as a...

I did 6 hours Muay Thai and 6 hours Jeet Kune Do a week while at uni and used to really enjoy it. Especially all the Silat and FMA stuff. I have never started an actual fight for real outside of sparring though and for some reason no one ever starts a fight with me either. So I've never had a genuin...

Not saying you can't do it. Just it's also been done on tracks by Jadakiss,Nujabes and Nina Kraviz already for example. So it's a little rinsed.

I like the weird quality these samplers give sounds. Not remotely high up on my list of shit I need but I like that sort of digital character. Reminds me of Swans' stuff in the 90s (they did use one of these I think)
