I got in to dubstep through the old Ghost releases and then through the tempa and big apple stuff...used to mix the darker tracks with techno records when i played out, and still do... But i think a tune that stands out for me was Maddslinky's The Fog, wicked bass line, sparse minimal 2-step...awsom...
