Re: Mavericks OS audio issues
2013 MBP.
I don't know if this is a feasible solution for you but $199 gets you Logic X. I switched from Pro Tools years ago and I LOVE Logic! It's hard to imagine any other DAW being able to speed up my workflow any faster.

PSA Izotope Nectar 2 on sale
Price drop to $219.
Good timing for me - I was just about to pull the trigger anyway. The harmonies are pretty tits and it's super nice to have the whole chain in one compact plug in.

Machine looks fun - very fun. I'm just not super convinced it's going to speed up my workflow or increase creative options. I do want FM8 and Absynth pretty bad.

Re: Avid's Uncertain Future
I used PT for 7 years until they wanted to charge me $400 to be compatible with my Mac's software update. I got Logic and I've never looked back. Logic is total tits.

I'm digging X. One bug is that I can't copy and paste Space Designer settings. Other than that I'm pleased with it. I definitely like the new look as opposed to dull grey.

Thanks FAARE FACED for listening and giving me some feedback. I also agree with the mixdown part though the ending is supposed to be more chaotic as opposed t...

I've found that using EXS24 for individual drums is easiest for me. You can layer in one instance of EXS24 - as you can adjust the volumes of each individual element in the edit window.
