Re: Adjusting levels at the limits of your hearing
So unless you're in a fancy studio with damping and a high polygon count, or have really good headphones, youre doomed?! I'd say at a disadvantage. I've had a bedroom studio for 16 years - can't afford no fancy shit. I try to compensate for listening to my mixes on as many devices as possible befor...

Try changing your wobbles a bit. Not really feelin' that synth - maybe be more sparse wit it. @donpablo - Nice atmosphere! Maybe I'm...

My PC's shit the bed a lot. They crashed a lot. Then I got a Mac Mini and have rocked that bitch for almost 4 years with no troubles. Best $500 I ever spent! I'd love to get a Macbook. Soon.

Re: Learning synthesis
Why pay when I can teach myself? I feel the same way too. There's so much good stuff out on the innerwebz. Myself, I got a copy of Massive and watched a fuck ton of videos. Played around with it. Watched another fuck ton. Made a couple of patches. Watched more fuck tons. Now I feel like I understan...

Re: Bass Drop
If you're new to bus processing (sending all of a chosen sound type to one channel) - I would stick to using one bass patch for now. Learn parallel processing and bussing first. Parallel would be sending your bass to another channel for additional processing while keeping the original. Route the ori...

Re: Risking getting a ban here...
You need bass. Without it, it wouldn't sound complete. Bass is something that balances the music. Bass is something that can help you through a rough day at work. Bass is something that builds up your life. Bass is what helped establish humanity. Bass is the answer to music. Even if there were no h...

Not sure what you mean. I could give a crap about a genre. Genre seems to have hijacked this thread because I mislabeled in the OP.exfox wrote: mate 150bpm is not even a genre..

Re: Risking getting a ban here...
To the OP: seriously, techno. Check out Marcel Dettmann, or the fine podcasts on CLR.net Modern stuff is slower, if you want your face mashed in at 140 BPM (like in the vid) that was all the rage in the late 90's, go find some old Adam Beyer, Surgeon, etc mix sets on soulseek Or you could listen to...
