Dubstep surely reinforces the status quo (socially, not musically) more than it changes it? One need only look at the £100 copies of DMZ001 or whatever on eBay to see perfect examples of commodity fetishism.

The proper way to make bagels is to boil the dough before you bake it. If you don't they taste awful, which most bagels in London do. Daniel's is one of the few bagel bakeries I've ever been to that does it right.

I had a wicked night. Pinch and Perveralist destroyed it. Was a touch too drunk though - fell asleep on the night bus and ended up having to walk back to Streatham Hill from Mitcham.

Was about to say the same. Another Strummer line I love is "Long distance callers make long distance calls".

Blind Blake is pretty much the don of ragtime on the guitar. More recently Stephen Grossman has put out some good stuff.

I reckon it's a lot more melodically interesting than the original and quite like the groove. If the production on the synths is the onlything that detracts from it for me.

While I like been smacked in the face by a bass line as much as the next man, all the tunes I really like are ones that last outside of a club. If there's not enough complexity and interest there to keep you paying attention when you're not in front of a giant sub then it's a bad tune, in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure Roll Deep play a show with the Klaxons (not physically on stage with them but on the same line-up) in Brighton earlier this year...make of that what you will.
