I was searching on the net for some roots dub mix, and i saw some mixes which were named as DUBSTEP , so i wanted to see what that thing was.
i downloaded Freakcamp_December 2005, heard Wedge - Dog Town, and it seemed to me like an ok, but weird thing, a lonely incident.
Then Skream - Rotten,Headhunter - Hidden Agenda, and the rest of the stuff on that mix.
subs, halfstep...I just had to become adicted!!! that was in december 2005...

Was on acid in a field at 3am in thick fog, you literally couldn't see your hand in front of you and my mates phone rang, he had 0800 by skream as his ringtone, was one of the creepiest things ever and my introduction to dubstep, loved it ever since :P

Heard 26 Basslines on an old Skream stella sesh, then heard the instrumental to Skepta's "Serious Thugs" on an old Kode9 mix, pretty much an instant conversion from there.

my mate Max Ulis was doing a grime weekly at a local club in late 2004-2005. There cam a point when the amount of good grime tunes kind of dropped off, so we started making instrumental grime tunes to play. At that point I had heard the Rephlex Grime compilations, which were all instrumental and was building beats of a similar style.. I looked further into those artists (digital mystikz, loefah, plasticman etc.. ) At that point DMZ001 and 002 were about as well. I guess it snowballed from there.

Purely accidental... some annoying guy was spamming his mix on a forum talking about "Check out my mix yo lemme know what you think?" I heard Loefah - Disko Rekah and my speakers were begging for mercy. I then went on to discover Skream of course and Mystikz etc... Before that I used to think dubstep was Craig David.

heard night on the radio.... which got me intrigued, but first stemmed from hearing Cockney thug in a Solid Steel mix tape while in the bath... err yea, it was a remix... never managed to get the remix.. but I then found out who it was... and got the fabric caspa and rusko mix tape and well it went from there... truly addicted now :)

I remember hearing the Dubstep Warz show on Radio1 when I was traveling in Canada a few years back and downloaded it so I could listen to it when I was snowboarding. Then stumbled across Double Face by Milanese and that sealed the deal.

Spent a lot of time in Manchester on the 'av it wagon back in 2007 with my mates, there was always a lot of liquid DnB and Breaks going about, but some Dubstep was crawling its way into our rotation. It took a while for it to really kick off for me, it was only around summer 2008 that I started to listen to it of my own accord, and my interest slowly increased from then on. I started not listening to DnB/Breaks as much when this happened.

As of late I've mostly just been listening to dubstep 'cause I've not really seen anything good come out in rock or anything else for some time, nothing else grabs me recently.

Dubstep is fertile ground at the moment I think.
