@goreilla: I like the intro from 0:00 to :49 the best. breakdown too. the wobbles are cool, definitely nothing wrong with them, but they just don't seem to come across as very unique to me. i'd definitely feel this at a club blasted like fuck tho, mhm.

- "dukya head" - DOOD! Where's the bass?? I had my sub ( 12", 250w) all the way up and I heard nothings!! I like the arrangement and the synths but hook a brother up with some bottom end!
Damn, the pitfalls of a shitty speaker setup. Mine barely get the sub at all, so I thought the bass was already done haha. Anywho, added a sub this time. Seems to me that creating a sub is way harder than its made out to be. Not only does getting a nice thick sound seem to prove impossible, but I can hear it covering up the track like fuck whenever the sub hits, resulting in an ugly fluctuation effect for lack of better term. Any tips for better sub creation and how I can reduce the fluctuating volume thing? Big up in advance to anyone who can help me out with this.

Try a better mixdown? Highpass everything over the sub so cut below 70? For sub try slight compression or adding triangle waves, phasing bass like in for the kill. Sub is simple to me

It's not that hard at all, but with a shitty speaker setup, it can be really troublesome. You're probably turning it up too loud so that you can hear some of the higher harmonics through your speakers. If you want to make it more noticeable, add some VERY slight distortion to bring out the higher harmonics while keeping the volume levels comparable, or detune just a little bit with a second oscillator to make it more noticeable on systems without subs.

The dubs forum seems a bit of a waste of time these days, so thought I'd try my luck with the serious boys in here. A deep one, any thoughts appreciated...

@rekstep: Thanks for the feedback. On your track, I'm digging the backwards sound that comes before the snare at parts. Has a nice deep bass that rings well on my sub. While it doesn't call out to me as an individual track, I could see me working it well into a mix and maybe mixing some vocals on it. Good stuff.

@Cogidubnus -really like the way it slowly builds. feelin the spacy vibes. Percussion could do with some verb tho i reckon. Enough happening to keep everything moving along, whilst always remaining minimal as fuck! Really feelin this tune tho man, followin ya pon soundcloud.

@Kamuh - wicked tune man. Lovin the subbass, just not really feelin the wobbles as i dont like the noise thats being used. Thats just me though, i would have preffeereed to keep it dubby and subby all the way through, although i reckon if i heard it on a system id get well into it! nice work.

I have the same problems, sub is non existent on my current speakers. Its real easy to turn it up too loud just to try and hear soemthing. Best way to deal with this is to get ya sub bass line in, then go check it on some speakers that do have bass, and from that work out how it should sound on YOUR speakers to be good on bassy speakers. Its just all about knowing how it translates.

wirez/ nice tune, vocals a slightly off key but it works really well garage stylee. Slightly off time with the beat as well. I dont know if this was on purpose but again kinda gives it the "ghetto" flare that seems to be loved. Pretty good mix down and some nice musical ideas. keep at it bud!

Kamuh/ Nice mix very original, love that reggae/dance hall vibe its got going on. Bass synth is a lovely sound but the low/mid is a bit strong imo. Structure is sweet but the track begins to wear a little thin imo. Top stuff though shall keep my eyes and ears out for ya!

Pain/ Hadouken.... erm mixing aint bad but not feeling this at all im afraid listened all the way through and nothing jumped out at me bit too random. lets see something bigger next!

Cogid/ love the deepness, progression is very nice. Nice crisp sounds in here. Little bit flat for me though but pretty decent mix keep at it!

Cloak and dagger. fresh air - The mix aint bad and all of the ideas are there. just some variation and fine tuning required for a real nice tune. keep at it!

This is my new one. Its literally a lonely jam session with some vocals. Its not overly polished but this is as far as it goes! (of course unless you love it enough to get me to go further with it :P)

Soundcloud

Further up this page i saw sub talk so heres my piece. The sub is the easy bit. Just gotta make it clear your kick. If your layering is for that nastier sound, you gotta keep the sub FLAT sor the low mid of you layer synth has drive. If you dont do this the bass will have your nice sound but lose all its fullness. hope this helps. !peace!

@Sovereignty- Ridiculously spooky sample and effects, heavy drop! Pretty damn crazy, not really into the wobble stuff but I like this- maybe a bit too mad and confusing but I think that's probably why I like it :D

@zuta- love the ontro and the synths at the start work really well together- like the techno wind too, love the way things fade in and out as you progress. Really love it mate- not sure you need the whole outro bit though- could end it at 4:40 easily

@lord pyro- nice skippy intro, drops a bit underwhelming and not sure the wobble is in key with the singing. Like the textures though, especially the bell like synths in there. Much prefer it when you're cutting up the vocals than when you're just lletting them play by themselves, breakdown is big too must say.

@rat race- i hate the original song but i really like what youve done with the arpeggios, giving it a kind of 8 bit feel on top of the electro and as for the transition into half time- very sweet, snoops lyrics are kind of drowned out though

@kamuh-absolutely love it mate, future dub feeling and the vocals are proper nice, gonna have to look her up. Proper Big ups mate, keep doing what you're doing

Tried my best to stop it sounding muddy, and this is as much as i'm doing on it, fed up with it tbh ha

@cogidubnus - nice stuff, flows nicely, needs more sub, and maybe a little swing on the hats, think that would add more movements. Big things though.

@kamuh - Vocals are really well set, sub is killa, shame about the wobble, it's kinda weak. Has no real precense. Otherwise nice stuff.

@ratraceproducing - Good work on the vocals, really fit well into the track. Like the nero sub roaring change up also. Really missing the snare though, barely there. Give it more oomph ^_^ cool track though.

@lordpyro - Not sure about this one, All of your parts seem to be in the mid range, so it sounds a bit messy. Wobble is weak, maybe even cut it completely. imo your intro is the best bit.

@alexwright - Def DnB, but very well produced. percussion is bang on, and the synths work really well with it. Nice stuff.

@sovereignty - Sounds like noise. Has no sub. Percussion is kinda dull. Synths used are well made, but depressingly generic. Not my kinda thing. sorry :(

@djraynes - sub/bass is fantastic, beautiful warm sound. Very cool. Perfect for chilling to. Great stuff :)

@hutyluty - Why is there no snare? bring it forward more, need to hear more of it. Also I don't like the open hi-hat sound, too clunky. Parts also sound out of key. As some kinda experimental it has potential, but I'm not a fan I'm afraid.

@cyrokinesis - Hmm. Well. It's a random collection of low-quality samples and some noisy synths. Not really my kinda thing.

Well... my new one -

Feedback much appreciated :) hope you like.
