Anyone else bored of half step??
Anyone else bored of half step??
recently ive been playing a lot more of the older steppy stuff, i remember when dubstep actually had more than 1 drum pattern....in relation to the biting in dubstep thread i think a lot more people need 2 get back to pushing this sound.

Sorry man, just there's been so many negative threadsjera wrote:yes i realise its all been said a million times.....but fuck you!!
nah love u really
in the last week or so.... and halfstep's no more or less
boring than breakstep/anything else, all relative at the
end of the day! Big up people making their own unique
sounds, and down with all the bracketeers I say lol!
A year ago every1 was going around sucking each others dick about how good dubstep was. Now it appears the "thing" to do is say how "formulated" its become. If you dont like it dont listen to it or go and make some beats that suit your taste. Every body bitching about LFO tunes or biting or formulas ... This forum is getting long.

In my opinion its important to mix up a dubstep set using both half step and full step dubstep tracks.
This is exactly what DJ Hatcha did on Tuesday's Kiss FM show and it worked a treat. One of my favourite Hatcha Kiss FM sets. He would go from a 4x4 kick dubstep track into a halfstep tune. In my opinion this is why dubstep is such an exciting form of music. 4x4 kick dubstep tunes with the snares firing of at various 16th notes makes for a rocking club.
How good was Mighty Mo on Tuesday? He was good. He reminded me of a 1994/1995 MC GQ - the best jungle MC ever in my opinion. I like it when Mighty Moe fires off one liners and lets the music breathe.

Bowzer's new tune is excellent. Really looking forward to hearing it on a big rig.

I like the variety that people are implementing now. I love the halfstep, I love the breakstep, I love the 4x4.
Parson's Meatgrinder and Bowzer's 4x4 tune are fucking awesome! Need more breakstep tho. Couple people have been really showing different influences in thier tunes also (lots of crazy metal stuff coming about that's absolutely off the hook!). Quite a few people getting more creative with their percussion work (throwing broken up amens and juicy funky drummers) which gives these halfsteppers a different kinda feel.
I'm all for more innovation in the music.

my heart sank when i saw this thread cos i thought it would be just peeps whining about half step.
im so glad people are actually backing it up.
theres loads of amazing halfstep, 2 step whatever fucking step.
if i hear a tune, and i really like it, it doesnt matter what the beat is.
im not going to make myself not like a tune because its not as unique as it used to be, thats just stupid.
