THINGS I LOVE ABOUT ABLETON LIVE

Workflow - Session and arrangemnet view is so handy
Audio Routing - Much easier than sending stuff through busses like in Logic
Device Chain - being able to swap effect in the chain is so handy
Saturator - Wow what a plug-in. Beautiful distortion
Ulitily Plug - Very handy for making drums and bass into mono
Freezing - I can't hear any difference between a live track and a bounced track which is great considering how many effects I use on each channel.
Browser - very easy to grab files and import
Beat Repeat Plug - Makes me sound like Aphex Twin
Midi Plug Ins - Love Veloity random dial and also love the Scale Plug so I can set up a scale and play my keyboard with no mistakes which makes me feel good about myself.
Stability - I've never had Ableton Crash yet.

THINGS I HATE ABOUT ABLETON LIVE

The metering - no idea where -6db is on the master fader
Compressor - sounds awfully weak
Autofilter - really don't like the EQ curves on this. Either its too fat or too thin. I prefer Camel Phat.
Operator - Hate the sound of this instrument. It sounds budget to me. Yes I have all the Covert Operator patches too. Much prefer the sound of Native Instrument VST's.
have you got anything a bit more deep and spacey please...?

easy way to solve ur hates:
when u expand the mixer section on session view, the first notch down is -6db...
get kjaerhaus classic compressor (freeware)
get kjaerhaus classic autofilter (freeware)
get a freeware synth like synth1, linplug free alpha, triangle 2...

then there's nothing to complain about!

I dig Live for sequencing/performance, but go download some VST's. There are plenty for free, but even more for those who know where to look (and lack sympathy for the Company). Interested?
