Datsik VS Skrillex?

Post by SlayTen » Mon Jun 11, 2012 2:50 am

Okay i am not big on the whole whos better than who blah blah blah, it's all preference. But this topic is talking mainly about production (technical wise, not song writing). Skrillex has always had some of the best, most exciting produced songs. The whole izotope trash and bass exciter - he just really makes his mixes pleasurable to the ears, while being punchy as hell at the same time.

Despite his crazy knowledge of production and his killer mixes, I really think Datsik has topped him with his latest album "Vitamin D" . The song fully blown he released has one of the heaviest hard hitting basses i've ever heard in any dubstep song. His basslines in this album are just incredible, and he even has a **** load of ear candy thrown in there.

Now i just want to see peoples opinions on lets say.. Bangarang Vs. Vitamin D I guess would be most appropriate. I love them both as musicians and think they're both insanely talented, this is just my take on it.

Post away (:

I kind of think you're at the wrong website entirely.

this is dubstepforum. not brostep.org

LOL it has been a while since I had the opportunity to be elitist. Thanks for providing it. A nice song of praise to skrillex there, you know bro.

Bangarang has made it onto our local radio stations playlist.
In other words, commercial as fuck.

inb4 lockdown
If this is the future, it seems highly livable: shiny, cool and comfortably dissonant. Like a low dose of ketamine in an empty, luminous airport hall in northern Japan, eating avocado and waiting for the universe to arrive.

Surely it's accepted that Datsik is old news now and Skrillex is the king of dubstep?

I've seen numerous numerous posts about datsik skrillex knife party all that on here. I don't understand why theres so much hating going on. I wanted a true producers opinion on either ors production. I still consider skrillex and datsik dubstep .. Just because its distorted doesn't mean they're not using 140bpm with a lot of the same dynamics.

Don't jump on the "SKRILLEX IS GAY" bandwagon just because he's "commercial now." Skrillex has given all dubstep producers further opportunities, and I think anyone can agree makes some pretty sweet tunes. It's not cool to dislike skrillex, so unless you truly despise his tunes I'd suggest to stop conforming

not a huge fan of either, but saw them both at shambhala on the pk sound systems...datsiks set was actually pretty enjoyable, he surprised me, wasnt all crazy high pitched stuff, he played a fair amount of bassy tunes, and anything else was mostly the somewhat deep rottun midrange stuff, hes actually pretty good live i think. Skrillex on the other hand was shit, theres just no movement at all to his music. A bunch of insanely high pitched and fast wobbles just doesnt really make me want to dance.
