I don't intend to say that pumped up music is easy to make. In fact, I'd rather not have a difficulty level associated with anything...it really depends on the person in question. Besides, people will like deep/ambient and people will like bro/aggressive and people will like whatever else there is. People will have opinions.

Re: your comment on the Phaeleh tune:
It's more than random percussion. He put percussive sounds in clever places that really improve the rhythm. Of course that easily could be done within 5-15 minutes by somebody who knows what they're doing.

Thats your opinion of what art and music is.

Different songs make you fell a different way and if you like the way music makes you feel then you will play it and like it, that what people want at the end of the day.
Do you have any valid knowlodge or superior education in art to say that this is just an "opinion"?
Ok then tell me what good music is then, tell me your magical formula that would make music that every would like.

As for a superior knowlodge, I wouldnt say I have superior knowlodge but I have 3 years of studying music at college and 2 qualifications that would say I have some knolodge.

Any way This got out of hand. Just can people stop bad mouthing brostep. On this forum it might be cool to have that opinion but remember as hard as it is to Imagen if your a girl in pre schools all over the world its probably cool to like Justin Biber

I like skrillex, but i kinda started to hate his music since the biggest teen radiochannels here started to play scary monsters and nice sprites over and over again and all these fucking teens started to listen "dubstep". Now i just listen skrillex at home with headphones so that noone can't be thinking im just one of those mainstream teen fuckers with no idea of dubstep.

But what comes to this dubstep/brostep thing, i'm more into the brostep, i like robots saying more yo than some lame rapper while they rape each other, but i do also like those deep tunes too. It's like metal music, i don't like rock, nice guitars riffs etc, i like aggressive, fast guitars and fast double bassdrums.
But there is some nice rock or what ever "deeper" tracks that i also like to listen.

And the funny thing is i dress like some lame rapper :corntard:

There are a lot of respected brostep producers around DSF. Excision and Downlink for big examples. Basshead is getting a lot of love and his tunes are top notch production and energy wise.

I like skrillex btw i think that his 5 best songs are as good as anyones, I also understand why people hate him... I dont hate him but I hate that people try to sound like him. I don't think he meant to change dubstep for the worse but i think he did a little bit... He's definately over hyped but thats not his fault either. Just like any genre of music the industry is fucked and the big labels choose what the masses will get to hear. Skrillex's name has become kind of a joke to fans, mostly on the internet just trolling, but its funny sometimes. Just mentioning his name is bound to get a funny reaction from someone... Skrillex, skrillex, skrillex, skrillex, skrillex

dubstep or brostep, doesn't matter really. as long as you dig the track it it's fine. for me it then just has to be good production-wise.

This whole thread after the first couple posts...

...why...just why...

There should be a stickied thread where people can go and start irreconcilable arguments about played out topics.

biggups hircine I didnt realise people liked my stuff on here that much! iv never gone for brostep though id consider my stuff tear out, but im not fussed im just happy people enjoy my stuff :) personally bassbum, i find deeper music is a lot more complex than heavier stuff. deeper requires more in the nature of subtle elements and melodies that you wont even notice unless you really listen, whereas with heavier tunes its much more of a sound design-based approach. i also really dont rate skrillex as producer, technically hes good, but its just noise to me, theres no rhythm. all of this is just my opinion though mate, feel free to disregard it if you want :)

agree with about pretty much everything. but even tho heavier monotone stuff might be easier to make it usually packs more punch for me. i like it more. and i like skrillex, too. at least some of his productions, many are crap. still he a skilled producer.
