Here is an example melody of something i've made.
If the melody itself doesn't interest you, but the method does, let me know. I took piano lessons for 15 years and theory lessons for 12 years. Melodies are my strong point of music.
Let me know if i can help ya out.

Specifically when the guitar comes in and the mixdown before the drop.

Rofl self-advertising, but ehh, the melody isn't that interesting,.
What am i supposed to do? I'm not self advertising. I was offering help, and if MY style interested you, then i was willing to help you out. If it doesn't, you can leave off the extra snide comments. Dick head.
Telling me it didn't interest you would be enough. So whatever. Have fun on your musical campaign to hell.
A little tune of mine :D

I think the problem is that you guys are reading my comments then putting a tone on it. Try reading my posts neutrally, I haven't intended to make any snide comments and I apologize if the tone of my posts sounds snide/doucheish.

Just keep practicing man. You can't get bored and hope that someone can explain how to become a better musician. You need to train your brain and that comes with experience.

The only tip I can think of would be to get a few chords together and turn it into an arpeggio with the arpeggiator in FL. Take a few notes out and maybe make a couple notes longer. Might help a little, shit I dunno. lol

Sometimes people force the music thing. Some people's brains don't work that way. My brother for example, can't keep a beat or tell if something is in key, etc Listening to him try to sing anything is pure comedy.

Melodies come in random with me, I usually smack my midi a couple times till I suddenly get something done. That usually does it for me.

Sometimes I can't either tell if something is in key or not.. Don't sing either but I don't really have a problem with melodies.

And azuk you didn't "attack" anyone but you were kind of a douche. Just being honest and objective, no hard feels. :w:

Make sure you have a bass sound guiding the melody.

That's probly your problem.

A melody can only be survive on it's own for so long with out a bass undertone guiding it. Either that or a pad could help.

Good luck

This is actually not far off the mark.

Trying to create something that's naturally musical in an environment like a DAW is a little unintuitive or even stifling for a lot of pplz.

Real instruments tend to lend themselves better to figuring this stuff out because that's what they've been designed to do. Even just singing alternate melodies as a way of figuring out progressions is better than nothing.
