Starting up a label...
Re: Starting up a label...
Why dont you commission in a more well know name to do a remix of a track, rather than paying them upfront for one of their tunes or summat, I dont know much DnB but I've never really heard of paying up front for tracks, but i do know people pay someone to do a remix for them. It just sounded at first that you wanted to start a label and just wanted to release people who are already big.

So you want to know how you can get in contact with the big artists? Email (if you have) or twitter.
They'll probably say no - hence the advice you've been getting.

Thanks a lot, probably the first useful thing I've gained from this, I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me to get a bigger name on a remix!skimpi wrote:Why dont you commission in a more well know name to do a remix of a track, rather than paying them upfront for one of their tunes or summat, I dont know much DnB but I've never really heard of paying up front for tracks, but i do know people pay someone to do a remix for them. No. At what point did I say that?codeStep wrote:So you want to know how you can get in contact with the big artists?

You said "How do I go about hitting up producers for tracks?"Elkie wrote:Thanks a lot, probably the first useful thing I've gained from this, I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me to get a bigger name on a remix!skimpi wrote:Why dont you commission in a more well know name to do a remix of a track, rather than paying them upfront for one of their tunes or summat, I dont know much DnB but I've never really heard of paying up front for tracks, but i do know people pay someone to do a remix for them. If you don't really know them or they know you it will be pretty hard, as others said so maybe try build up a relationship with them first.
Yeah getting someone to do a remix is a good idea, think most artists would be more open to that than original tracks.
Good luck with it all anyway.
