Need some wicked recommendations

Post by pablo2k1 » Wed Jan 09, 2008 10:14 pm

What's up. In all honesty about 95% of the music I listen to is us rap (90's eastcoast mainly), but I have found some dubstep/grime tunes that I really like. Mainly because they have rap/reggae influences. Some examples are 6blocc's murderer and the Menta remix of Random. Does anyone have any recommenadtions for other tunes/artists I might like? Thanks!

Check out

- Matty G's tunes and the Argon Records back catalogue.
- Parson's Traktor Pull mix/album and recent 12" on Planet Mu
- The Bug 12"s with Flowdan - Jah War, Skeng and Poison Dart Remix.
More Grimey than hip hop but still heavy.
- Loefah - 'Ruffage' and 'It's Yours'

Might want to try Roll Deep. Their Rules and Regulations album is pretty sweet.

If its grime your after check out the run the road and lord of the mic compilations.

For dubstep the Dubstep Allstars compilations are about as good a place to start as any! Also check out the Fabric live mix by Caspa n Rusko.

Getting away from dubstep for a mo (*gasps in horror*)- Can you reccomend me any hew hip hop to check out?

Grime/dubstep is both fine aslong as it's not too much dnb, jungle or house influenced and not too commercial either.

What kind of rap do u like? (That makes it easier to personalize the recommendations)
