Eli's Morning Coffee Mix

Post by kodama » Mon May 15, 2006 11:33 am

...has made a bit of a splash on Steppa. Not strictly dubstep, but not strictly anything else either: it's all different, but all good!

Cool Mix.
Wicked variety of stuff. Don't often get to hear quality hip-hop thrown in.

I was on edge all mix waiting for the Venetian nares to drop... Never hear dthat remix before. HEAVY!

i wouldn't call it a mix because it's not really all beatmatched (only a few)....it's more of a nice selection of tunes glued together...don't get me wrong....all nice tunes.....but not really a mix ;)

... hmmmm a bit speechless about that comment, all the tracks were blended together on vinyl with my own human hands and i did the mix in one go! some of the actual mixes go for over a minute long! I do admit some of the mixes are quick as the intros are really short on the songs and it doesnt really give much time for smooth long mixes, which I really dig... anyone else care to offer there opinion?
Im a bit stumped that you dont think its a mix and that the tracks are hardly "beatmatched"... :o

i mean if i would mix an eclectic mix with my turntables i mostly try to get all tracks to blend in eachother trough the beats and not through intro's. But because there are a lot of differences in tempo in your mix its more a blending of intro's. Don't get me wrong i think the tracks are really cool, but i just really like to hear a mix wich is BEATmatched wich is way harder then to mix intro's. Still a big up for the tune selection !

??? Ummmm.. yeh anyway

Big mix Eli.. I cant remember the last time i had something on such high rotation.

For those who don't know, Eli is one of the pimp daddies when it comes to beats in Sydney and is playing along side Luke Vibert on his upcoming tour down under

thats my problem with what your saying! all of it is beatmatched besides 2 tracks! the tempo changes twice throughout the mix and that is when I drop Milanese after Virus Syndicate and when I drop the Bong Ra remix for the last track, the downbeat stuff at the end is still just a half/step tempo of what speed most of the mix is at! your a fruit cake! :P
Big up everyone else who is digging it, oh and Doomstep send me a PM with your details so I can send you a legit copy!

Woah, easy there mate. I don't think I understand what you're trying to say about beatmatching either if you don't think this mix has been put together that way. Could you explain what you consider a mix?

Doom - i've been having some trouble with my host in the last couple of days. Let me know if you still can't get on the site so I can whine like a child to them. I'll yousendit for you too if you need.
