In 'Can You Swim' takes NumberNin6 us to a familiar place but one we are often hesitant to explore: a place called uncertainty. Time-stretched percussion and eerie synth melodies remind us that life sometimes takes us to a bridge over the deepest, darkest waters and (before pushing us off) asks, "Can you swim?" And the drop, with its slow swirl of moody bassline, moaning string samples and vocal edits, embraces us, suggesting that beautiful things may come from our darkest moments.

A vinyl static and soft atmospherics set the tone for 'Lucid'. A distant vocal descends into subbass, floating melodies and most importantly, space. Percussion takes center stage, with small hints of reggae and UK 2-step lingering in the background, and is greeted with a slowly progressing lead melody. This is a track that contemplates, ponders over the past few years of a genre and its tumultuous journey. It wonders where it will go from here.
