My name is Ralph and I'm an addict.
I produce and play music, some of it my own. I've also self released a couple of tracks on a white label and sold out my 500 run in less than 2 months, with no distro other than local shows, and having my release in local shops.
I'm pretty good at finding undiscovered talent. I wouldn't mind being a scout, of sorts. I don't know that I've gained enough trust around here to handle any money, but I do have some accounting experience, though I dropped that course of study for another after 2 years
I have connections with TAX ATTORNEYS and LITIGATION should we ever need them in the US side of the pond.
I'm good at networking and management of artists and I've promoted my fair share of events. I was actually planning on starting my own label until this started to form. Depending on how this turns out, I might still be doing that... I might do that even if this does work out.
Lets put it this way... if I recommend we sign a track and this label passes on it, you can probably expect it to be competition in the coming months
In addition to promotion of shows, I have also been street teaming for MAJOR labels since I was 15, and I am now 23. I have 8 years of experience in promoting major label music. Not always bands I've liked, but System of a Down, Marilyn Manson, Deftones, Linkin Park, Slipknot, A Perfect Circle, Taproot, Alien Ant Farm, to name a very few.
When I started street teaming for them, they were playing in bars and clubs, now they are touring arena's and complete sellouts. This may not be a good thing, but demonstrates what getting the word out on the street level can do for the music.
SWAG is a must... stickers, a few CD singles to get radio play, flyers, etc... any way for us to actually get the word out that doesn't include being on the platter of a big name DJ's tables is where I can come in. I'm very good at what I do.
